Sonic the Hedgehog sequel reveals ‘extremely obvious’ title and logo animation


The sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog from Paramount Pictures has revealed its official title and logo animation with an energetic teaser video.

Fans finally know what the official title of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is, along with the logo for the sequel.

“Groundbreaking. Introspective. Extremely obvious. Introducing the official title of the #SonicMovie sequel: Sonic the Hedgehog 2! Capture # SonicMovie2 in theaters in 2022,” a tweet from the official Sonic the Hedgehog Read the Twitter account. The video animation has an orange number 2 that appears next to the Sonic the Hedgehog logo. Once they connect, Number 2 grows a tail, alluding to the debut of Sonic partner Tails, who appeared in a post-credits scene in the original film.

Aquaman Star Jason Momoa is reportedly in talks to play Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The report claims that Paramount Pictures has offered the role to Momoa, though they have not yet officially accepted it.

Paramount Pictures and Sega Sammy announced that they were developing a sequel to the hit film adaptation of the popular video game franchise in May 2020. Jeff Fowler is expected to return to direct and Pat Casey and Josh Miller will rewrite the script.

Released in February 2020, Sonic the Hedgehog follows Blue Blur (voiced by Schwartz) as he fights to stop the evil Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from taking over the world. The film showed a sequel in the middle credits sequence, featuring an appearance by Tails, one of Sonic’s iconic sidekicks.
