Enter the MCU Phase 3 Collector’s Edition, which has all the latest Marvel movies like Avengers Endgame game changer like Black Panther in that. But before fans head to Amazon or Walmart to order, here are a few things everyone should know about collections.

10 It comes in two parts

MCU Phase 3 Part 1 and 2

To date, Phase 3 was the MCU’s largest and most ambitious effort. This period in the giant franchise had the most movies, including a massive two-part Avengers crossover that will go down in history as one of the biggest blockbusters ever seen on the big screen.

Due to its large size and reach, it is no surprise that Phase 3 had to be divided into two sets of boxes. The Part One box is designed around Doctor Strange’s Eye of Agamotto (aka the Time Stone), while Part Two takes visual cues from the Infinity Gauntlet in the center of Avengers: Infinity War Y End of the game.

9 It is part of a larger set

For the finalists or those who have yet to purchase a single MCU DVD and are looking to fix that, the two-part Phase 3 set is part of a larger collection. Phases 1 and 2 are also available, although Amazon ran out of stock at one point. Fortunately, they have been reprinted following the expectations and demand of Phase 3.

In total, this would amount to four sets of boxes, but for those who want just one set, fear not. The MCU Infinite saga (Beginning with Iron Man and ending with Spider-Man: Far From Home) has been compressed into a massive collection. The set comes with 23 films, 50 discs, and exclusive art prints. At launch, the Infinite saga The collector’s edition was priced at $ 550.

8 It’s just a couple of boxes

MCU Phase 1 and 2

The two parts of Phase 3 are sold as a pair of boxes wrapped in a sliding cover. There is nothing wrong with this and the DVD brochures are designed to fit perfectly on any video shelf, but compared to their predecessors, the whole of Phase 3 feels a bit underwhelming, despite the MCU possibly being at its best during this period.

The earlier phases also came in boxed brochures, but they had a little extra. Namely, the limited runs of the Phase 1 set had a replica of Nick Fury’s suitcase carrying the Tesseract. Meanwhile, the exclusive edition of Phase 2 went so far as to include a replica of the Orb that housed the Power Stone.

7 It is available on Blu-Ray and DVD

MCU Blu Ray Vs DVD

DVD collectors tend to be divided when it comes to choosing a format. Some prefer old-school DVDs out of the box, while others want to upgrade their entire video library into consistent high-definition Blu-Ray re-releases. All parties can rejoice as MCU Phase 3 comes in both formats.

Blu-Ray releases come in 4K restores, while DVD versions follow normal TV standards. Regardless of the format, both versions are presented in 1.78: 1 aspect ratio and remastered Dolby audio.

6 Blu-Ray and DVD regional locks are different

MCU Collectors Edition Region Lock

Unsurprisingly, the two different video formats come with different region locks. Normal DVDs work exclusively with players in Region 2, that is, most of Europe, Japan, the Middle East and South Africa. Blu-Ray Collection is region free and has been announced to work on most Blu-Ray DVD players and PlayStations around the world.

That said, some reviews on Amazon raised issues with region locks. Some versions of the set did not work on Region 1 players, despite the promise of no region. To be on the safe side, it is highly recommended that you check your DVD player and make sure it is capable of playing discs from all regions.

5 Costs less than $ 110

MCU Black Panther Money

Individually, an MCU DVD would cost between $ 10 and $ 20. A full set of all the movies would cost up to nearly $ 1000, regardless of shipping and handling fees. The Collector’s Edition, on the other hand, comes with all the Phase 3 movies plus additional content and will cost no more than $ 150.

As of this writing, the Blu-Ray editions cost $ 109.82 (Part 1 costs $ 50.74, while Part 2 costs $ 59.08) and the standard DVD version costs $ 99.02 (Part 1 costs $ 41.03, while Part 2 is $ 57.99) on Amazon. These collector’s editions not only save money, but also save space, as they are just two boxes instead of almost 10 DVDs.

4 Has a total of 11 movies

MCU Phaser 3 Movies

As mentioned above, Phase 3 is the MCU’s biggest adventure to date. Beginning in 2016 and ending in 2019, the MCU’s most ambitious phase yet saw the Avengers’ schism, the beginnings of the multiverse, the wrath of Thanos, and historic moments like record-breaking blockbusters and culturally significant films for Black Panther and Captain Marvel. .

Part 2 contains Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man & The Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Y Spider-Man: Far from home.

3 Blu-Ray set has special 3-disc features

Stan Lee Brie Larson

Aside from the movies, the Collector’s Edition also comes with tons of bonus content. Part 1 has a disc full of 14 character feature films for each Avenger, while Part 2 needed two discs to contain its documentaries and retrospectives. Some of these are a directors’ roundtable and a documentary titled “Remembering Stan Lee”, dedicated to Stan The Man himself.

That said, these special features are exclusive to the Blu-Ray version, which has a total of 14 discs based on Amazon listings. The standard DVD set only has 11 discs (one for each movie), although each disc comes with the usual behind-the-scenes commentary, trailers, and shorts. Fortunately, both formats include the exclusive art prints and mini posters.

2 Reviews are universally positive

Amazon MCU Phase 3 Listing

When it came to customers, the entire collection from Phase 3 was worth every penny. On Amazon, both sets of boxes enjoy strong ratings and recommendations, with many saying they are satisfied with their purchases.

Common sentiments and compliments include: the boxsets’ space-saving design, the bargain price for 11 movies and tons of extras, and the good quality and audio of the movies on their TVs. That being said, a common complaint pointed to flimsy material on the skid covers that was prone to damage or that some discs were not region free as promised.

one Disc prints may be inconsistent

MCU phase 3 problem disks

A recurring problem for those who bought the collector’s editions was that the disc prints can be inconsistent. In the teaser images, the discs for Part 1 are coded green, while those for Part 2 are purple, reflecting the Time Stone and Thanos, respectively. Each disc also has a character from their movie, which adds some flair to it.

However, some customers reported that the discs they received came in a plain layout, with Spider-Man: Homecoming being the only exception. This is a common problem for the Part 1 box set, leading to some annoying comments and rare but hard to miss low ratings. This is why Part 1 has lower user scores than its tracking collection.
