WandaVision’s Paul Bettany said the Disney + version of his character Vision was inspired by British comedian John Cleese.
WandaVision Actor Paul Bettany recently revealed that his British partner John Cleese was a huge inspiration in shaping the version of Vision he portrays in the decade-long Disney + series.
Speaking about whether she made character suggestions while filming the Marvel series, Bettany said Marvel.com He did a little research while preparing for the role, noting that most of it was “about syntax and Brits and stuff.”
“Because that was kind of hard to find, it was the paradigm for a British person in a 1950s American sitcom, because it’s different,” Bettany explained. “There was once a lot of study of people like Dick Van Dyke, etcetera, etcetera.” He added: “There was also a John Cleese study and well, many, many, many British comedians.”

The Vision actor also joked in the same interview that some of the theories fans have about By WandaVision the plot is surprisingly successful. “I love that it spreads to the fans,” added Bettany. “And I love how frustrated they are that they can’t see it all at once.” He continued: “I love reading your theories about what could happen. And some of them are incredibly accurate, actually.”
In other Marvel Cinematic Universe-related news, Bettany also recently settled a years-old debate over whether Chris Evans (Captain America) or Anthony Mackie (Falcon) have bigger and better junk in the trunk. “I’ll tell you, Anthony’s butt is amazing,” Bettany told KFC Radio Clips at the time. “And I actually saw them talk about his butt together and they decided to have a squat jump competition.” While Bettany confirmed that Evans won the squat jump competition in question, she maintained that Mackie still has the best butt.
Episode 5 of WandaVision found that Vision has finally realized that things in Westview may not be exactly as they seem, and that his wife Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) may have something to do with it. During the episode, viewers also learned through SWORD that Vision’s body was stolen by Wanda prior to the construction of Westview, and hinted that she resurrected him using some previously unknown powers.
