The Pokémon Day Virtual Concert has launched a promo starring rapper Post Malone, with a surprise just before the artist takes the stage.
Rapper Post Malone is getting fans excited for the Pokémon Day Virtual Concert in a new promo video.
The 30-second ad features Post Malone narrating as the camera follows him from his limousine surrounded by paparazzi, to the backstage arena and finally the moments before he takes the stage. Just before making his grand entrance, he holds up a Pokéball and transforms into an animated character.
“I’ve been a longtime Pokémon fan, so the opportunity to headline the Pokémon Day concert celebrating 25 years is incredible,” Post Malone said in a statement.
The Pokémon Day Virtual Concert is presented by P25 Music and is scheduled for February 27. “We kicked off our one-year P25 Music program with a virtual concert that only Pokémon and Post Malone could offer you!” read the logline. “This great one-time party is an exciting opportunity to bring together Pokémon and music fans from around the world.”
The Pokémon Company International will host several celebratory activations across the brand in the week leading up to the virtual music event. In addition to what was previously announced Tour Pokémon GO: Kanto On Saturday, February 20, The Pokémon Company International will distribute a special password on February 25 for players of the Pokémon video game franchise to add a special Pikachu to their Pokémon Sword Y Pokémon Shield games. On February 27, fans can tune in to Pokémon TV, either on the web or by downloading the app, for a curated selection of music-themed episodes from the popular Pokemon animated series as they prepare for the big Pokémon Day concert with Post Malone in the evening. Fans can expect more announcements that week from the entire franchise.
