After three appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Frank Grillo has confirmed that Crossbones will not be returning to the MCU movies.
Actor Frank Grillo has confirmed that his time as Brock Rumlow / Crossbones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has come to an end.
“They finished with me,” Grillo explained to Variety. He added: “Because of the way the stories ended up being told and how big the stories got, the pirate flag wasn’t really part of the future of the Avengers.”
Cricket debuted as Brock Rumlow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier before assuming the mantle of Crossbones in its sequel, Captain America: Civil War, where the supervillain met his end. He briefly replayed the role in a scene from Avengers Endgame and will also reprise the role in a vocal appearance in the upcoming animated series, Marvel’s What If …?.

Outside of his appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Grillo has kept himself constantly busy as an actor, appearing in movies such as Warrior, The purge: anarchy Y Zero thirty dark while also assuming roles in TV shows like Kingdom Y Thousands of millions. His next major role will be headlining Joe Carnahan’s time-loop action movie. Boss level.
