RTX 3060 Release Date: Nvidia's $ 329 GPU Launch

Nvidia has now confirmed the release date for its cheapest RTX 30 series graphics card, but when it goes on sale it may not matter as much.

Nvidia first introduced its new RTX 30 series cards late last year with the lineup limited to the RTX 3070, 3080 and 3090. Over the next several weeks, the company released several new graphics cards at different times. Since then, the company has introduced the RTX 3060 Ti, and even more recently, the standard RTX 3060. Priced at just $ 329, the RTX 3060 will become the most affordable RTX 30 series card to date.

For those looking to buy the cheapest card, Nvidia has confirmed that it will go on general sale starting February 25, 2021. Nvidia website it has now been updated to reflect the release date and a separate confirmation received via the official Nvidia forums destination keeping in mind that the RTX 3060 units will go on sale at approximately 9 am PST. If recent company launches are something to go through, then the approximate launch time is likely important to anyone interested in choosing one.

While it’s nice to know when the RTX 3060 will go on sale, it might not matter much. Every RTX 30 series card that has come before has been in extreme demand, though not always in genuine demand with bots and resellers equally keen on securing as many graphics cards as possible. Due to these combined elements, the availability of these cards usually does not last more than a few minutes after they are released. Given that the RTX 3060 is the cheapest of the new GPU lineup, demand for it should probably be expected to be as high as previous cards, if not higher. Unfortunately, this likely also means that when the RTX 3060 goes on sale on February 25, it will also sell out extremely quickly.

For those who can get one, the RTX 3060 seems like a good deal. Despite its low price, the graphics card comes loaded with 12GB of GDDR6 memory, 3584 CUDA cores, and a boost clock speed of 3584 GHz. Not to mention, it also comes with many of the same enhancements as the rest of the RTX lineup. 30-sesries, including Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), enhanced ray tracing, and other benefits associated with Nvidia’s Ampere architecture.
