When the True Blood The reboot was announced, it was a surprise, to say the least. Fans weren’t expecting a reboot, and the show’s stars were equally shocked. None of the cast members seemed to know of a reboot of True Blood it was happening before it was announced, including Paquin and his co-star Denis O’Hare (Russell Edgington). Even the writer of the books True Blood relied on, Charlaine Harris, was left in the dark when it came to the reboot. This led some to believe that the original cast would not be involved in the reboot, despite the fact that the True Blood The ending left the door open for characters like Sookie Stackhouse and Eric Northman to return. However, it seems that the stories of these characters may have definitely ended.
According to Deadline, the original True Blood The actors are not expected to return for the reboot. While talking about HBO reboots and revivals such as And so Y In treatment, with Casey Bloys, Chief Content Officer for HBO and HBO Max, Deadline reports that the True Blood reboot is still in very early development and there are no plans to bring back any of the veteran cast members.
The decision not to bring back actors like Paquin and Moyer will likely be seen as another bad sign for the upcoming reboot. Many were disappointed that HBO was rebooting True Blood after just six years off the air. Like many popular TV shows, True Blood it failed to keep landing when its final season rolled around, and the series finale turned out to be a disappointment. There are still many character arcs left unsolved in True Bloodfinal, something that will not be remedied if HBO goes the route of a True Blood reboot instead of a revival.
The news that the True Blood The cast not returning may be concerning, but there is still hope for the series. Aguirre-Sacasa proved to be a valuable asset to The CW, with the writer and producer successfully creating two shows for Archieverse: Riverdale Y Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Aguirre-Sacasa could be the right person to renew True Blood, possibly with a younger generation of characters. Regardless of which direction HBO takes with its True Blood reboot is sure to turn heads when it finally comes out, given the popularity of the franchise.
