By now, you’ve probably heard some of the greatest stories about Jared LetoThe method of acting preparations to play the Joker in 2016 Suicide squad. Leto has a history of taking acting prep seriously, unsurprisingly, and as such he’s no stranger to diving headfirst into major transformations or changing his demeanor to help get into character. So when Leto’s reports Suicide squad The co-stars emerged prior to the release of the movie that the actor did things like send all various animals (like a live rat to Margot robbie), or Leto himself who sent the cast condoms, seemed normal.
At the time, Leto seemed to confirm that he did, in fact, give all those unusual gifts to his co-stars, even telling them IS! News At one point, “I did a lot of things to create a dynamic that created an element of surprise, a spontaneity and to really break down whatever kind of wall there might be. The Joker is someone who doesn’t really respect things like personal space or boundaries.”
Well now, after five years, it seems Leto wants to set the record straight. The star of the recently released crime thriller The little things He sat down with GQ magazine to participate in their ongoing series in which the biggest stars discuss their most iconic characters. After talking about his performances in The thin red line, Fight club, Requiem for a DreamY Dallas Buyers Club, it was time to discuss Suicide squad. Leto started off by giving a surprising but extremely accurate description of what it’s like to approach the role of Joker.
He began by telling GQ that “putting yourself in the Joker’s shoes is an incredible opportunity,” and went on to say, “I guess it’s this generation’s version of taking on an infamous Shakespearean character. A lot of people have played the role before, a lot of people. [will] play it in the future, so it’s an opportunity to do something new and explore challenging territory. ”
From there, Leto took the opportunity to dispel some of the rumors about his wild taste for gifts, specifically the live rat he gave Robbie. According to Leto, he gave Robbie something much more normal and tasty: “It’s also interesting how this all takes on a life of its own. I never gave Margot Robbie a dead rat. That’s not true. In fact, I gave her a lot of – I found this place in Toronto that had great vegan cinnamon buns and that was a very common thing. ”
Leto did not refute any other stories, such as giving the Suicide squad Cast condoms, which is very interesting but also arguably not as interesting as the image of him regularly giving Robbie vegan cinnamon buns while filming together. That image will now have to live with the image that will surely be long-lasting of Leto in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The actor will resume his Suicide squad character for a short scene in director Zack snydernew cut of League of Justice. Based on recent Leto’s photos League of Justice Joker, this version of the character doesn’t seem like the type of guy to hand out cinnamon buns.
