An exploit was found in the Valheim archives that allows players to duplicate items, an alternative to discovering hard-to-find materials.
Iron Gate AB has managed to carry out a legendary Viking invasion with their newest hit, Valheim, racking up a maximum concurrent total of 160,000 players in its first week, and the game is still in early access on Steam. It also reached a major milestone with 1 million copies of the game sold in the first week since its release on February 2. Valheim It is fast becoming a phenomenon despite the bugs players are spotting, such as a rather useful bug that duplicates items.
Valheim is a multiplayer survival game with a strong Norse mythology theme. Players are thrown into a world of the dead as the souls of deceased Viking warriors and must learn to craft items to stay alive and take on the harsh elements, battle monsters, and ultimately take on Odin’s most powerful foes. It’s a cooperative game that allows teams of up to 10 players to work together, collecting and crafting items to keep the team going. Items also have a limited lifespan in the game, so building a workbench and continuing to get things done is essential, though items can be repaired if they break.
However, players have found a clear loophole that allows them to duplicate items that are in their inventory, making the game much easier and faster. Sample stop shows viewers how to do this on his YouTube channel, and the process is quite complicated. The processing involves opening the folder on their computers with your Valheim Save characters to it, copying the saved character to another new folder, and then open the game again. By taking advantage of the auto-save feature, when players place these items in a chest, the game will recognize the items in both the player’s inventory and in the chest.
A few glitches are likely to crop up in the first week of Early Access, and obviously some tweaks will be needed, but Iron Gate AB has already released a patch that improves stealth mechanics and takes absurdly overpowered dead mosquitoes down a notch. With any new game, there are gamers who like to find exploits that the developers have not yet detected, but by doing so they help to draw attention to these flaws so that the developers can work on a fix.
The full game’s release date is only expected in 2022, but Iron Gate AB has assured players that it will continue to update the game every month. Despite its initial flaws, Valheim It has become so popular because it has done something different than every other survival game out there, and that is the introduction of teamwork. The game is playable alone, but things move slowly as a single player item gathering and crafting, which is where a glitch that duplicates items comes in handy. But if players band together to survive instead of fighting each other, there will be no need to resort to glitches to get anywhere.
