When it comes to Netflix, the streaming service arguably rose to fame following the success of several of its original shows. These include Stranger things, for thirteen reasons, orange is the new black, Y The crown. Since then, the company has continuously provided new streaming content that everyone can enjoy episode after episode.
This year, Netflix introduced us to Destiny: The Winx Saga, a series that focuses on teenagers attending a boarding school for fairies. And while we wait for news of a possible second season of the show, we thought we would also check out other similar shows and movies to watch.
This 2005 film is based on a popular television series. This time around, Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman takes on the iconic role of Isabel Bigelow / Samantha that Elizabeth Montgomery had played for eight seasons. Meanwhile, her love interest, Jack Wyatt / Darrin, is played by comedian Will Ferrell. Meanwhile, Shirley MacLaine plays Iris Smythson / Endora, who had been Samantha’s mother on the TV show. Despite some of the differences between the plot of the film and the series, Haunted it can still be fun to watch. Interestingly, Kidman’s costumes in the movie are also comparable to Montgomery’s more iconic costumes like Samantha.
9 The good witch
The good witch is a Hallmark show that started out as a movie series, easily showcasing Cassie Nightingale’s (Catherine Bell) magical abilities. The series essentially follows Cassie’s life after the death of her husband, Jake Russell. On the show, Cassie and her now-grown daughter Grace (Bailee Madison) attract the attention of new neighbors, Dr. Sam Radford (James Denton) and their son, Nick (Rhys Matthew Bond), who move in right next door to the Gray House. It goes without saying that Dr. Radford and Cassie eventually fall in love and become Middleton’s newest couple.
8 Practical magic
More than two decades have passed since Practical magic it was released in 1998. Since then, the film’s two main stars, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, have become Hollywood’s biggest stars. In fact, both women have won Oscars and have also been interested in doing film and television projects on screen and behind the scenes.
In the movie, Kidman and Bullock play witch sisters who are dealing with a curse that may prevent them from finding true love. Practical magic It may not have received rave reviews from critics, but the film did earn some fans nonetheless.
7 The order
In this Netflix series, a college student named Jack Morton joins a secret society and discovers magic and monsters in the process. Of course, the show is a bit darker than Fate: The Winx Saga. However, it deals with similar themes and, of course, witchcraft. Unfortunately, Netflix had decided to cancel the series after two seasons. According to the show’s creator, Dennis Heaton, things could have taken a darker turn if The order It has been renovated. He tweeted“Jack was going to raise Alyssa from the dead, but she was going to come back bad. I like, Pet Sematario incorrect.”
6 Percy Jackson Movies
Percy Jackson may be a demigod rather than a witch, but he certainly went through a similar phase in life as Bloom did when she began attending Alfea. As you may recall, Percy was unaware of his abilities (or his true identity) when he began attending Camp Half-Blood. Had to train and had to learn to master them like our favorite Winx saga fairy. After releasing two movies, it seemed that Fox had completely forgotten about his Percy jackson franchise. Fortunately, news has emerged about plans for the franchise’s resurgence on Disney +.
5 The magicians
The magicians is a Syfy fantasy show that revolves around a group of students who are recruited into the mysterious Brakebills University, where they make the terrifying discovery that magic is real. Based on a series of novels of the same name by Lev Grossman, the series begins just as a young teenager named Quentin Coldwater arrives at the school that regularly trains magicians. And like Bloom, Quentin also makes new friends quickly and together they discover the most amazing (and dangerous) things in the wizarding world.
4 Fantastic Beasts Movies
the Fantastic Animals are essentially a prequel to the hit Harry Potter films, although his first two films were only released in recent years and the third will not be released until 2022, according to recent reports. These films delve deeper into the world than Harry Potter author JK Rowling had created superbly.
However, it is established around 65 years before the events of Harry Potter and the central character is a creature-loving wizard named Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). In the second film in the franchise, fans would also encounter a younger version of Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law).
This CW drama is the latest spinoff of popular teen dramas The vampire diaries Y The originals. This time, we discover other young residents of Mystic Falls who also possess supernatural abilities. These include Klaus Mikaelson’s (Joseph Morgan) daughter Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), and Alaric Saltzman’s (Matthew Davis) twin daughters Josie (Kaylee Bryant) and Lizzie (Jenny Boyd). And as fans across the Vampire Diaries universe can expect, these girls had been attending The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. The show had recently premiered its third season.
two Harry Potter Movies
Perhaps, it is not surprising that the Harry Potter movies would be on this list. After all, Destiny: The Winx Saga made a reference to Harry Potter at the beginning of the series. For anyone who hasn’t seen these movies yet, there are eight, starting with Harry potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which sees Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) begin his time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry shortly after discovering that he is a wizard. Soon enough, the film also introduces audiences to Harry’s lifelong friends Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson).
1 Enchanted reboot
CW made the decision to revive the Charmed universe in 2018 with an entirely new cast that included Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery, and Madeleine Mantock. Like the previous show (which featured Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, and Shannen Doherty), these women also play three sisters who only find out they are witches after their mother’s death. In 2020, CW announced that this rebooted show was renewed for a third season. However, the return of the program was delayed due to the pandemic. Fortunately for fans, the show’s third season finally premiered in January.
