Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds Shares ‘Long Lost’ Fan Mail Response

Ryan Reynolds celebrated Deadpool’s 5th anniversary on February 13th by posting photos of a fan letter from 2016 and composing his response.

Ryan Reynolds celebrated the fifth anniversary of the release of dead Pool on February 13th by tweeting photos of a “long-lost” fan letter, as well as his response to said fan.

“Five years later, I am still in awe of dead Pool fans, “Reynolds posted on Twitter. “Hunter wrote me this letter after #Deadpool came out and somehow my reply never came in the mail. Hang on. Mostly.” Reynolds’ post also included photos of two typewritten paper letters – one from Hunter and a reply from Reynolds, both dated 2016.

Hunter’s letter, which has no evidence of being real, begins: “Dear Mr. Deadpool, I would like to begin by complementing your fantastic ‘laugh my ass’ movie and would like to take the time to keep up the good work.” The so-called fan goes on to describe the movie as the “perfect ‘R’ rated movie” and notes that he hopes Fox and Marvel “will make a second movie for you, and not a shitty second movie like most sequels.” He also asked Reynolds for advice on how to be more “tough like you.”

In his response, Reynolds joked, “Can you imagine if DP was with the MCU at Disney?” He also assured Hunter that “there will be a lot” of sequels and suggested that the best way to be a badass is to “commit to one thing.” Other highlights of the letter include Reynolds poking fun at a variety of pop culture events that have taken place since the movie came out, explaining that he recently invested in the infamous Fyre Festival and that, like Tom Brady and New England, he and the acting are “together forever.” Reynolds ended the note by telling Hunter that they should “stay connected on Vine.”

After the success of dead Pool, a second installment of the film franchise launched in 2018. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed in early January that the third installment of the dead Pool The franchise will be an R-rated Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie. He said at the time: “It will be rated R and we are working on a script at this time, and Ryan is overseeing a script at this time … It will not be [filming] this year.”

Deadpool 2 starring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, and Karan Soni as Dopinder, with newcomers Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable, and Julian Dennison as Russell. Deadpool 3 is in development at Marvel Studios but does not currently have a release date.
