The trailer revealed dozens of important plot points for the film. Iron Man’s friend and mentor Obadiah Stane proved himself the villain. His Iron Monger suit was also revealed, along with the final fight. Even some of the softer moments in the movie were spoiled, like an intimate scene between Tony and Pepper where they kiss. The trailer also showed Tony’s best friend Rhodey and Pepper discovering his secret identity. Much of the action was shown in the two-and-a-half minute video, along with the iconic scene of the tank missiles and their aerial dance with the F-22 Raptors.

The only scene left undiscovered was the iconic line “I am Iron Man.” This line not only completes the full circle of the Infinity Saga, it also meant a change in superhero movies at the time, because previously, heroes kept their identities hidden. However, credit for the trailer should be taken to the fact that the dialogue and scenes in it were cut or recorded with different lines. This helped ensure that viewers had a semi-different experience than was shown in theaters. Since then, Marvel Studios has adjusted its techniques to make sure nothing is spoiled for fans.

Other Avengers, such as Thor, were also omitted from the trailers for Avengers Endgame, as his appearance was completely different from his last appearance.

In the early 2000s, trailers weren’t as heavy as they do now. Hollywood has reached a new height and franchises are all the rage. As the MCU continues to expand, it’s important to never make the same mistakes twice when posting information. However, while Iron Man The trailer got really messed up, it also showed just how perfect the acting and directing were as fans still filled seats to enjoy the movie.
