Yu-Gi-Oh !: Kaiba’s 10 Most Used Trap Cards

One of the most powerful Yu-Gi-Oh! The duelist of all time is Seto Kaiba. One of his main strengths is the way he handles his trap cards.

One of the most powerful Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelists of all time is without a doubt Seto Kaiba. Kaiba is extremely talented, and that’s partly due to the craftsmanship of his deck. He always makes sure to have a solid balance of monsters, spells, and traps.

Kaiba changes his deck very often, and that includes his traps. The first few entries on this list are cheat cards that you only used in a deck recipe, but always to great effect. As a note, all of the effects listed below are the anime versions of the cards.

10 Desire for final effort

Kaiba's First Duel in Yu-Gi-Oh!

Wish of Final Effort is a very simple card that Kaiba only used in a bow and very simply restores hit points based on the attack points of a monster that has just been destroyed. Kaiba used this in the Waking up the dragons arc.

It’s not as good as a card, as HP restore cards rarely are, but one has to trust that Kaiba knows what he’s doing when creating a deck.

9 Tyrant wing

Blue-eyed Chaos MAX Dragon on the dark side of dimensions

Kaiba loves his dragons, especially when they are equipped with trap cards that increase their power.

Tyrant Wing gives the monster that is equipped an additional 400 attack points and allows it to attack twice in a battle phase if the opponent has a monster on their side of the field. With Tyrant Wing, Kaiba can essentially take down his competition.

8 Blueprint Lv 4

Flat Lv 4 is a trap card that can only be activated when a monster is destroyed in battle. Once activated, both players can Special Summon a Level Four monster to their side of the field.

This is an incredibly useful card, especially since it doesn’t specify which duelist has to lose a monster for it to activate. As such, Kaiba can destroy an enemy monster and then summon a new one. That’s playing with power right there.

7 Pyramid of light

Yu-Gi-Oh Pyramid of Light

Pyramid of Light is a very, very simple card. Once activated, all God Cards that are on the field are removed from the game. This is not a good card for numerous reasons, but one of the main problems is that the moment you are removed from the field, the God cards are ready to go back to work (the ones that haven’t been removed).

It also allows the Egyptian god of death, Anubis, to enter your brain and take charge to destroy the pharaoh, an unfortunate side effect.

6 Return from the different dimension

YuGiOh Seto Kaiba

Return from the Different Dimension, in the anime, allows the user to pay half of their life points to Special Summon as many of their monsters as possible that have been eliminated from the game on their side of the field.

While they must be removed from the game once more at the end of the turn, it is a small price to pay for a card that can easily win the player the duel with ease.

5 Cloning

Final Kaiba from the Dark Side of Dimensions Yu-Gi-Oh

Kaiba used the rest of the cards on the list in various decks. Cloning is a very interesting card that can be activated in response to the opponent’s summon of a monster. The player is immediately allowed to summon a copy of that monster to his side of the field.

This is a useful effect that can be used in a number of ways, especially when used against powerful effect monsters.

4 Magic trick mirror

Zigfried using his Goddess card against Kaiba in Yu-Gi-Oh!

Magical Trick Mirror is a card that Kaiba used often when he was in a difficult situation. It can only be activated once the opponent declares an attack.

In response, the player can use a spell card from his opponent’s graveyard. Kaiba used this card in the famous KC Grand Championship bow to skip Zigfried’s battle phase with the Goddess Mischief of Time in her very close duel.

3 Ring of destruction

Kaiba The Dark Side of Dimensions Yu-Gi-Oh

Ring of Destruction is a trap card that allows the player to target a monster on the field and destroy it. Additionally, both players lose life points equal to the monster’s attack points.

This is a good card to have in your back pocket because it is a nice draw along with a bit of damage. It’s also notable in that it’s one of the few cards in the game that can cause a draw, which is very rare.

two Attack guide armor

Attack Guidance Armor is a simple card that, when activated, allows the player to change the target of an attack to any monster on the field of their choice.

This can be useful as it can easily allow the player to force the opponent to destroy one of their own monsters, or simply eliminate one of their less valuable monsters.

1 Virus Crush Card

Seto Kaiba Mokuba Yu-Gi-Oh

Crush Card Virus is easily the trap of Kaiba’s ace, he uses it in almost every version of his deck. Once a dark monster on your side of the field with less than 1000 attack points is destroyed, the opponent must destroy all the cards on his side of the field and in his hand with more than 1500 attack points.

This card had different effects depending on where in the anime it was used, but it was a mainstay in Kaiba’s deck that he never left out of rotation.
