Warning: SPOILERS ahead for WandaVision episode 6.

WandaVision introduced Tommy and Billy Maximoff to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Episode 6 referenced the twins’ comic, Mephisto-related origins, and potentially caused a heartbreaking twist. After a spontaneous pregnancy emerged, Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) gave birth to the twins in WandaVision Episode 3. After an awkward moment with Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) in Episode 5, Wanda and Vision (Paul Bettany) discovered that they had rapidly aged to five years. When told they were not old enough to have a pet, the duo grew old again, this time at 10 years old, so they could officially keep the dog Sparky. Now played by Jett Klyne and Julian Hilliard, Tommy and Billy were prevented from doing the same for the third time after the canine’s untimely death.

Entering a new era of sitcoms, WandaVision Episode 6, “All-New Halloween Spooktacular,” saw the family (mostly) revel in the holidays. Along with their new uncle Pietro (Evan Peters), Tommy and Billy raced through Westview. In addition to amassing a host of trick-or-treating candy, they participated in a variety of super-speed-assisted pranks. Towards the end of the day, however, Tommy and Billy’s Speed and Wiccan powers officially manifested. Considered “chips from the old Maximoff block“Through Pietro, Tommy developed superspeed like his uncle. Meanwhile, Billy mirrored Wanda more, drawing on abilities of a more psychic variety. However, something that Pietro uttered earlier in the episode had a totally opposite implication. As well as making direct reference to it. To the material source, it could be heralding a dark twist in the last three episodes.

From their costumes to WandaVisionit’s ultra-meta Kick ass For reference, Maximoff’s trick-or-treating session was full of Easter eggs. However, before all of them, Tommy and Billy ran competitively to visit houses. As they did so, Pietro yelled at them. “Unleash hell, spawn of demons! “Usually that would seem like a typical farewell to the proverbial ‘cool guy’ character from a comedy. When it comes to the MCU, and WandaVision especially, however, nothing has been typical. In this case, the line almost certainly pointed to the comics. In Avengers West Coast Vol. 2 # 52, three years after their equally mysterious births, it was revealed that Tommy and Billy were actually magical constructions made from fragments of Mephisto’s soul. As such, on the page, the appearance of demons was initially a very fitting way to describe them.

Pietro later referred to Westview as “lovely as hellAgain, this may be the modern way of speaking offered by the seemingly merged version of Quicksilver. Therefore, it may not have a deeper connotation. That said, given the clear intent of the reference above, it cannot What made him even more suspicious was how much knowledge Pietro seemed to have about the situation. Unlike everyone else at Westview, he didn’t just fit his character. Although Pietro hugged him, he did so with full awareness and meta-commentary. That concerned the function of her role, how Wanda staged the scenes, and the details of how she had treated the residents of the city. As such, Pietro’s comments required further examination, because if she knew the true nature of Westview so thoroughly, the same could be said for Tommy and Billy.

What all this could mean for the future will remain the subject of speculation. However, the reference (and potentially prophetic knowledge) will certainly add fire to the theory that this Quicksilver is WandaVisiontrue villain. Equally, as comic book fans can attest, it might not bode well. After all of Tommy and Billy’s origins were discovered, Mephisto reabsorbed them and they ceased to exist. The moment required Scarlet Witch’s memory to be erased, before ultimately leading to a momentous emotional breakdown. It’s unclear if the MCU would ever skew that dark, but it’s certainly possible. In fact, it would be heartbreakingly tragic. While trying to escape grief and pain, Wanda’s actions in WandaVision It may have paved the way for your biggest losses yet. Fans, however, will probably expect it to be just a funny wink.
