For those who are not familiar with Trailer Park Boys, the series is a mockumentary in the style of other popular comedies such as The office or Parks and RecreationAlthough its concept actually predates both shows, and its original film that spawned the series premiered in 1999. Trailer Park Boys Incorporated has partnered with Chicago-based Devil’s Due Comics to create a comic book parade around the group’s mishaps. Okay! The bullshit kicks off this spring 2021 with a limited preview book, giving fans a taste of what’s to come. The boys will be back on the page in the fall of 2021 with a comics comics from a special edition anthology and miniseries. The first number is now available to pre-order here.
This is not Devil’s Due Comics’ first foray into bringing television series to the realm of comics, in fact, they are responsible for the comicization of Family man. Not only is Devil’s Due Comics helping with the publication, but the company’s own founder, Josh Blaylock, is stepping in to curate the project personally.
“This is the perfect fit for us,” says Blaylock. “I have the utmost respect for what the guys have built from the ground up into a true phenomenon. We will have a lot of fun with the kinds of stories we can tell, marketing tricks we can do, and talented comics professionals. Fans of the show with the one we will work on. “
Fortunately, this new partnership will bring more than just comics, and it also promises tons of new products. Posters, prints, enamel pins, and limited merchandise featuring comic book art are on the way and, if COVID allows, will be available at some super fun live events to launch and promote the series.
