Ludi Lin, known for Power Rangers, Aquaman, and the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie, will appear in The CW’s Kung Fu reboot starring Olivia Liang.
Ludi Lin has been officially added to the cast of The CW’s Kung Fu restart. The new series, which is inspired by David Carradine’s 1970s show, will star Olivia Liang as Nicky, a young Chinese-American who drops out of college to study Kung Fu at a monastery in China. Kung Fu will add another potential hit to The CW’s collection of original dramas, including Riverdale, Walker, and the various DC Arrowverse series.
Unlike the original Kung FuThe CW reboot will take place today and will star a female lead. After leaving his home in San Francisco to study Kung Fu in China, Nicky returns to find that brutal crime has taken over the place he used to know. Determined to defend herself, Nicky uses her martial arts skills to fight baddies with the help of a cast of family and friends. Other actors previously announced for the show include Tzi Ma and Kheng Hua Tan as Nicky’s parents, Shannon Dang as his sister Althea, and Yvonne Chapman as the evil assassin Zhilan.

The CW has managed to carve a successful niche in the original drama arena, despite the gradual decline of traditional television.
