A behind-the-scenes video from Batman Returns reveals just how good Michelle Pfeiffer was wielding Catwoman’s whip, while performing a stunt in one take.
A behind the scenes video of Batman Returns reveals how good Michelle Pfeiffer was wielding Catwoman’s whip, while performing a one-time trick. Pfeiffer was the first actress to play Catwoman on the big screen, and her portrayal of the Tim Burton film was one of the highlights of its sequel. This despite the fact that Batman Returns He originally cast Annette Bening for the role, before she retired due to her pregnancy. It turned out to be a lucky circumstance, as Pfeiffer shone in the role.
Pfeiffer’s version of Catwoman is easily the most popular to appear on screen, with Halle Berry’s solo outing being considered one of the worst movies of all time, and Anne Hathaway’s. The rise of the Dark Knight version forced to take a backseat to other characters. However, it will get stiff competition in 2022 from Zoe Kravitz, who plays Selina Kyle / Catwoman in Matt Reeves. The batman with Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader. As for Pfeiffer, even the critics who found Batman Returns Too dark praised his performance, made even more exciting by the use of a whip. Pfeiffer actually learned how to handle the gun, a skill he still has, after posting a video demonstrating his skills 27 years later.
And a recently resurfaced behind-the-scenes video, posted on Twitter by Jarett wieselman, reveals how good your shooting skills were Batman Returns. Filmed by a crew member, the video shows Pfeiffer easily taking care of four mannequin heads with her whip, as Catwoman does in the film, in one shot. There appear to be crew members pulling the dummy’s heads back when it hits them, but there’s really no need, as it hits the target with deadly precision every time. The video ends with the crew bursting into cheers and Pfeiffer bowing in thanks. You can watch the video below:

The team’s response says it all and even though the video is very low quality, Pfeiffer’s feat is still fascinating to watch. It’s a shame Batman Returns It was Pfeiffer’s only outing with the suit, though she has recently said she would play Catwoman in The flash movie if asked. While the likelihood of that happening is slim, it’s not impossible, considering Michael Keaton’s Batman returns for that movie.
Even if that doesn’t happen, Pfeiffer’s legacy as the best Catwoman is assured thanks to her strong performance in Batman Returns, and it’s at least half thanks to his mastery of the whip. Zoe Kravitz certainly has some big shoes to fill, although she probably won’t be asked to attempt to replicate Pfeiffer’s antics with a whip, as movie safety has come a long way in the last 30 years.
