A preview of Black Panther # 23, written by Coates with art by Daniel Acuña and Ryan Bodenheim, reveals the speech that will either rally Wakanda to victory or prevent devastating defeat:

This speech is epic and is sure to inspire all of Wakanda. These pages show how much T’challa has grown throughout this series. He is no longer a person who moves away from the crown, from leadership. Instead, he is using his experiences and his losses to strengthen the people of Wakanda and himself. This is exactly the kind of speech T’challa needs to give, because the next war is bigger than anyone could have imagined. N’Jadarka has proven to be extraordinarily difficult to kill and the threat he poses has only multiplied since he brought Erik Killmonger to fight alongside him. T’challa has broken oaths, but has also been forced to face the consequences of his decisions. He has had to face his past, his ancestors, and himself on Djalia, the ancient plane. Many have sacrificed themselves for the benefit of Wakanda and for the freedom of the people of Wakanda, but the enemies that lie ahead are beyond anything they have faced before. Yet this is where their strength as a nation comes from: the people and their willingness to defend each other no matter what lies ahead. However, it is not only the people of Wakanda who are joining the fight.

Among the crowd of Wakandans, many black heroes can be seen. Nick Fury, Miles Morales in his Spider-Man suit, and Storm from X-Men are present, as well as War Machine, Ironheart, Patriot, and Vibraxas, among many others. It looks like this final showdown will be intense, but the King of Wakanda won’t be alone. The second Wakanda may not have upheld the ideals of the original, but people are regaining their memories and their identities. There are signs that the N’Jadarka empire may soon collapse to make way for a true union. Wakanda. The fight against the Intergalactic Empire is not over. It has just begun.

Black Panther # 2. 3 premieres on February 24, 2021.
