The antidepressant commercial from episode 7 of WandaVision could have a link to the presence of Time Variance Authority in the upcoming Loki series.
Warning: SPOILERS ahead for WandaVision episode 7!
WandaVision Episode 7 features another commercial, but this specific announcement could be a clever connection to the next one. Loki series on Disney +. The latest installment, titled “Breaking the Fourth Wall,” follows Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) after extending the limits of the hex around Westview. With the city under her spell, Wanda finds it more difficult to maintain control. This will only get more difficult now that Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) is revealed as the sinister witch known as Agatha Harkness.
To play into the world of Wanda’s sitcoms, the Disney + series features a commercial hiatus with haunting overtones during each episode. In “Breaking the Fourth Wall,” the television commercial features a new antidepressant called “Nexus.” The capsule in focus is marketed as “a unique antidepressant that works to anchor you to your reality, or the reality of your choice. ” To follow the format of typical drug commercials, the commercial then reveals possible side effects, including “possibly more depression. ” Based on your recent feelings of distress, WandaVision clearly presents Wanda as a candidate for Nexus.

The name of the antidepressant can also be significant in connecting with the existence of “Nexus Beings.” Marvel Comics once described the Nexus Beings as rare individuals with powers to affect the odds and, essentially, the future. Nexus beings are key to the Multiverse, which Olsen hinted at about Scarlet Witch in a 2013 interview. That said, the Nexus drug commercial may also tie into the MCU’s “God of Mischief” and his upcoming solo series. Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Loki for a show that follows the character’s whereabouts after the events of Avengers Endgame. Loki It will also rely heavily on the Time Variance Authority (TVA), which has a long history with Nexus Beings.
What do the Nexus beings mean to the Loki series
The TVA is a mysterious organization that made its debut in Marvel Comics in 1986. The bureaucratic group monitors the Multiverse to make sure the timelines are not altered in any way. If the past or present is being changed, the TVA takes action, so they set their sights on Loki after he acquires the Tesseract. Historically, TVA has had many run-ins with Nexus Beings, as has another group referred to as Time-Keepers. The rare group of Nexus Beings, including Scarlet Witch, is known to be monitored by TVA due to their abilities.
There is always the possibility that the TVA will appear in WandaVision as a way to configure your presence on Loki. With the potential for Wanda and Agatha to affect the past or the present by altering reality like Nexus Beings, the TVA could show up to shut them down if SWORD doesn’t. On the other hand, the Nexus antidepressant commercial could be a nod to the Nexus of All Realities, a multidimensional gateway that allows the traveler to reach each and every one of the realities. Loki is known to use similar types of portals in the MCU, and a similar gateway may be an integral part of his time travel in the upcoming series. Either way, the mention of Nexus seems more than coincidence.
