In 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory, some stories were forgotten, including Penny’s shoe app, Leonard’s writing dreams, and Raj’s dog, Cinnamon.
The longer a sitcom lasts, the more stories are often discarded or forgotten. For Big Bang Theory 12 seasons, there were many endeavors, interests, and even characters that were slowly removed from the show without fans noticing until they re-watched the series.
Sheldon and company have been through so much on sitcom that it’s easy for things to slip under the rug without much mention, but there comes a time when one has to wonder why a story was dropped. TBBT Fans are dying to know what happened to Penny’s shoe app, Anything Can Happen Thursday, and a certain puppy named Cinnamon.
10 What happened to Penny’s hair accessories?
In “The Work Song Nanocluster,” Penny dabbles in the entrepreneurial spirit when she begins to make her own flower berets and calls them Penny Blossoms. He said that people loved them so much that a local store was going to sell them to them on their behalf.
Sheldon knew that Penny needed help, so he gave her the basics of running a business. Leonard, Raj and Howard soon teamed up and collected thousands of Penny Blossoms for orders. However, outside of this episode, this was the only time fans had heard of Penny Blossoms. Did Penny’s passion fade?
9 Leonard’s long dream of writing a book disappeared overnight
Penny discovers that Leonard had a lasting dream of writing a novel in “The Novelization Correlation.” He started spending time writing a mystery novel, but when his friends read it, they were trying to figure out who Leonard was basing the antagonist on.
Penny and Bernadette were the best options, but at the end of the episode, Leonard realized that it was unconsciously his mother. This idea scared him and made him stop writing the book. Does that mean this dream of yours died overnight? Why couldn’t she change it and start writing a new mystery that didn’t involve her mother?
8 The Forgotten Shoe app
As “silly” as the group tends to make Penny feel, she has come up with some pretty clever ideas. Not only did she create Penny Blossoms, she also had an idea for a shoe app.
In “Using the Bus Pants,” Penny thought of an application where people can find out where a shoe is from by taking a photo. The app will then evaluate the image and tell the person where to find the shoe. Once again, Sheldon helped her best friend with her idea, but that was the last time viewers found out. Penny’s big idea went nowhere.
7 The idea of tenure was forgotten after one episode
When a position was opened at Caltech for tenure, Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj applied for the opportunity. Getting a position at such a young age at a prestigious university could do wonders for your careers.
Throughout the episode, all the men go head-to-head to get to the top, but by the end of the episode, viewers never find out who got the title! The worst thing is that it is never mentioned again.
6 Did Sheldon ever become a “mom”?
Sheldon had a severe fear of birds in “The Ornithophobia Diffusion.” This was made clear when a blue jay refused to leave his window. Things got dramatic when the bird flew into the apartment and Sheldon had no choice but to face his fear and befriend him.
At the end of the episode, Sheldon revealed to Leonard that she was going to be a “mom” because she found an egg left by the blue jay. But this egg was never seen or talked about in later episodes.
5 Where did the cinnamon go?
When Raj was overwhelmed with grief after a breakup, Bernadette and Howard bought him a dog to make him happy again. Raj called her Cinnamon and it soon became a big part of his life. He loved her so much that he received the same treatment as most of his girlfriends.
Interestingly, once Bernadette got pregnant, Cinnamon stopped showing up. Where was he? She was such an important part of Raj’s daily routine and suddenly she disappeared.
4 Did Penny graduate from college or not?
When Penny was putting her life in order, she started taking some classes at the local community college to see what her passion was. She was surrounded by men and women who loved what they did for a living and wanted the same kind of experience.
Amy, Bernadette, and Leonard helped Penny with her schoolwork but, as always, this part of her life slowly ceased to emerge. No more jobs, no more meetings with other students … Did Penny stop going to class or did she graduate?
3 Anything can happen Thursday died
Anything can happen on Thursday is something that was raised in the second and seventh seasons, but never again. It was a way for the group to get out of their comfort zone and try something new.
In “The Anything Can Happen Recurrence”, it became obvious that the reason they stopped doing it is because they ran out of ideas. But if it was a weekly routine, and everyone knows how much Sheldon likes routines, why did they stop?
two Are fans supposed to forget about the Duchess?
In “The Relationship Diremption”, Sheldon says in a silly voice “Oh Duchess, look at me. My quantum gravity is positively insane!” Penny asked who the Duchess was and Leonard said it was one of the characters that lived in her head.
Why has this never been mentioned again? The strangest thing is that in “The Relaxation Integration”, the viewers are introduced to the different Sheldons in their mind and none of them were named Duchess.
1 Was Alex’s program tired?
Alex Jensen appeared in season six as Sheldon’s assistant. I really needed some extra help and Alex was a perfect fit for the role. However, conflicts of interest arose after she showed personal liking for Leonard. It was a fun addition to the show but it disappeared as quickly as it appeared. Nobody knows what happened to him.
