Remember when Paul Bettany previously revealed that WandaVision would feature a cameo from a great actor? The cameo was said to be in keeping with Mark Hamill’s return as Luke Skywalker in The mandalorian. And then in Episode 5, titled In A Very Special Episode, we got a screen-shattering cameo from Evan Peters in a big way, as Wanda’s late brother Pietro.

However, Paul Bettany has now revealed that it wasn’t Peters he was talking about when he hinted at a very significant cameo in the MCU’s new canon Disney + series. In a recent interview, Bettany has stated that “there is still a character that has not been revealed yet.” Bettany also said that the cameo will be from a great actor she has “longed to work with.”

This means that Evan Peters isn’t the only major actor to make a surprise appearance in WandaVision. Previously, Peters’ cameo paved the way for a major discussion about the X-Men or Mutants involvement within the MCU. These discussions were fueled by the fact that Peters had previously played Quicksilver in the now-defunct X-Men franchise. Taking his cameo as a sign of Mutants’ integration into the MCU, Peters’s cameo led to tons of theories pertaining to the future of the MCU and the introduction of Multiverses.

However, two episodes later, we haven’t received any significant details about Peters’s appearance. And with this new update from Bettany, advertising on WandaVision has increased. Bettany has even revealed that the scene with this unknown actor will also involve Bettany and there will be “Fireworks” when they both appear on screen.

Paul Bettany succeeded in not making fun of this “second cameo” “too much”, unlike previous MCU legends Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo. However, fans are already speculating that the MCU supervillain Mephisto will make his debut live, while some hopeful are still staring at another mutant (like Ian McKellen’s Magneto) to make an appearance. It seems like people can’t wait for the X-Men and Avengers to reunite soon.

WandaVision now it has seven episodes with only two more left. From the way things are unraveling, the series is unlikely to be conclusive. The series will connect even more with the MCU movie. Strange doctor in the madness of the multiverse and the Disney + series Loki.

Possibly, we would have to wait for these two MCU entries to be released before we can find out what’s going on in Westview. Plus, with Agnes’s new twist and the introduction of Agatha Harkness, there are several new plot points that Marvel can include in the show’s hopeful and potential “Season 2”. Until then, let’s just hope that Bettany’s secret on-screen collaboration with the great actor she’s dreamed of working with leads to a huge MCU-level event for viewers to focus on.
