While details are scant, Zack Snyder has re-recorded the end of Justice League, which will feature a new character and a mind-blowing cameo.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will feature a host of new footage, with director Zack Snyder’s cut from the film totaling 4 hours in length. While many of these new details and cameos have been confirmed by the director, there are still more surprises to come.
In an interview with Vanity fair, Snyder spoke extensively about his court of League of Justice and revealed that he has filmed a completely new ending that includes a cameo by a new hero “that will blow the minds of fans.” It is currently unclear who will present this “mind blowing” cameo or what it will entail, and it may only be revealed when the film opens in March.
Snyder has confirmed several new additions to his version of League of Justice, most of which were part of the director’s original plan for the film. This includes the introduction of Martian Manhunter (played by Harry Lennix), a character who was originally intended to appear in 2017. League of Justice before Snyder left the project.
Snyder even shared a new line of dialogue from the character, stating that “a war is coming”, along with a variant cover that featured Martian Manhunter’s character design. However, Lennix, who played General Calvin Swanwick in Snyder’s Iron Man Y Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, revealed that he is still unsure of the character’s official look, as he shot the role entirely in a motion capture suit.
Snyder has had no qualms about sharing teasers on his social media, posting new images and clips from the trailer in the days leading up to its release. The official trailer was released on Valentine’s Day and promised a different story than the theatrical cut of 2017, with a multitude of remastered images. The trailer also reintroduced Jared Leto’s Joker to the DC Extended Universe, another set of characters confirmed to appear in the Snyder Cut. Apparently, the addition of the Clown Prince of Crime was the only departure from Snyder’s original vision.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ray Porter as Darkseid, CiarĂ¡n Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. The film hits HBO Max on March 18.
