TV really needs more creepy Victorian ghost stories.
Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for The irregular, which came with a nifty release date of Friday, March 26. Written and created by Tom bidwell (Sunken ship), The irregular tear off characters from Sherlock Holmes mysteries Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and gives them a YA supernatural twist, resulting in something that looks a lot like Sherlock Satisfies New mutants. Sounds elementary, in my humble opinion.
Rather than follow the good detective, the series focuses on a gang of troubled teenagers living on Baker Street who are forced to solve crimes for John Watson (Royce pierreson). I love the vibe of the trailer; if Netflix is going to try again and again to capture the bottled lightning that is Strange thingsWell, we could pull out some fun and creepy Victorian ghost stories.
The irregular also stars Thaddea Graham (We), Darci shaw (Judy), Jojo macari (Sex education), McKell David (Snatch), Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Killing Eva), Y Clarke peters (Its dark materials).
Check out the trailer below. The irregular debuts on Netflix on March 26.
