The Crew features a NASCAR premise, so how many real-life drivers appear on the Netflix series? Here’s a full breakdown of each guest cameo.

The gang This is a professional racing team, so it makes sense to include some real life NASCAR drivers. Starring Kevin James, The gang relies heavily on humor in the workplace, as Bobby Spencer Racing employees try to stay competitive. There are few real races in The gang, but several NASCAR drivers make brief cameos and gently trolley the main character.

In The gangKevin Gibson (James) feels threatened when a young Stanford graduate named Catherine Spencer (Jillian Mueller) becomes the company’s new CEO. Right away, he wants to replace driver Jake Martin (Freddie Stroma) with the sexiest Jessie De La Cruz (Paris Berelc), and quickly changes the dynamics of the office. As a crew chief, Kevin follows the rules and still looks for work elsewhere, while taking care of his close friend Beth Paige (Sarah Stiles), the office manager. When The gang features racing-themed sequences, usually to point out Jake’s lack of intelligence, even though he’s a capable driver.

The gang Season 1 includes a voice cameo cameo from Fox Sports NASCAR announcer Mike Joy, along with a special appearance from television host Jamie Little. NASCAR drivers Austin Dillon and Ryan Blaney appear on The gang Episode 2, “Kevin from my name and I’m worried about my feelings.” During a scene at a restaurant at the 12-minute mark, Catherine explains to Kevin and sponsor Rob (Kim Coates) that her waitress apologized that Blaney took one side of the wings. In a follow-up shot, a big-mustached Blaney appears to be leering while eating, and Dillon suggests that Kevin has already had too many wings in his life. After a couple of lines of dialogue, Blaney mocks Dillon for always reminding people that he won the Daytona 500, saying: “I just wanted to have a meal without you mentioning that, man.”

Known as “The Ace,” Dillon won the Daytona 500 in 2018. He has been competing in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2011 and most recently finished third in the 2021 Daytona 500. He is the brother of the NASCAR driver. Ty Dillon and grandson of the former NASCAR. driver Richard Childress. As for Blaney, he also comes from a racing family, as his father Dave Blaney competed in nearly 500 NASCAR Cup Series races over 17 years. NASCAR driver Cole Custer appears in The gang Season 1, Episode 3, “Hot Mushroom Meat”. During another restaurant scene, Blaney introduces him at the 12-minute mark and offers a single line about Kevin’s team always behind him on the track. Blaney once again steals the spotlight, not only with his Red Man belt buckle, Winston hat, and thick mustache, but also with his comedic timing in reacting to Custer.

He is currently 23 years old and won the NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year award in 2020. He has competed in more than 40 races since 2018 and won the 2020 Quaker State 400. His father is Joe Custer, president of Stewart-Haas Racing. .
