Paradox Interactive has revealed that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will not be released in 2021 and will be followed by a new studio.

Paradox Interactive dropped a bomb today in Twitter when he announced that Bloodlines 2 It won’t be released in 2021. Developer Hardsuit Labs is also no longer working on the project, and a currently unknown studio will continue to progress the game. It is unclear if this study will finish development of the existing game, or if production will start from scratch, as will Metroid Prime 4. As there is no longer a release date for Bloodlines 2, Paradox will no longer be accepting pre-orders for the game until further notice.

It has been clear for a while that all was not well with Bloodlines 2. The creative leads were fired without notice, with Brian Mitsoda (the writer of the original Blood lines) outside the project. Mitsoda has expressed disappointment at the decision in interviews since leaving the project. Alexandre Mandryka was hired as a creative consultant, but it is unclear if he is still working on the project.

It was not surprising to learn that Bloodlines 2 was delayed until 2021, as several video games have been delayed due to the pandemic. The absence of a launch window, coupled with a new study working on the game suggests that Bloodlines 2 it won’t be published for a while. Shigeru Miyamoto’s famous quote about delayed games comes into play once again, but we’re not sure what will be more exciting: the release of Bloodlines 2 or the eventual reveal of the drama that turned the game upside down.
