Job postings on developer Dambuster Studios’ website show that Dead island 2 Production recently shifted its focus to the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X platforms | S. Originally announced in 2014, the sequel had long been in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. However, the latest generation of consoles came and went without the first-person zombie title hitting the shelves of the stores.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that the Dambuster website has hinted at the possibility of Dead island 2 launch on next-generation platforms. However, the most recent listings don’t mention the next-gen iterations for the next installment in the zombie franchise. So it would appear that the long-developing sequel is now exclusively in the works for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S.
Players looking for more zombie first-person goodness aren’t just waiting Dead island 2. The creator of IP Techland has yet to release Dying Light 2, which is reportedly fighting its own development hell. A recent report focusing on claims by the studio’s developers alleges that mismanagement and a litany of other issues continue to haunt the project’s momentum.
