While fans are excited to see the battles Sam will engage in in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, there are a few they want to see unfold on screen.
Sam Wilson is back in the exciting first trailer for The hawk and the winter soldier, and it is clear that he will be involved in some important action sequences. The Falcon has been a part of some of the best fights in the MCU (at this point), and there’s even more from the comics that would be great to see on the big or small screen.
Sam’s history in the comics as Falcon and Captain America provides a lot of material for possible fight scenes in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Perhaps, if the series continues or Sam appears in future MCU installments, fans will also have a chance to see them unfold on screen.
10 MCU: fighting Brock Rumlow
Sam Wilson is at the heart of many of the best action sequences from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. One of them was his confrontation with Brock Rumlow, the SHIELD / HYDRA agent who would become Crossbones. Sam is forced to fight Rumlow without his jetpack and does his best. However, they both have to flee when a SHIELD helicopter crashes into the building. Sam jumps out the window to safety, but Rumlow is caught in the collapse.
9 Hope to see: Avengers vs. X Men
The X-Men will appear in the MCU at some point, especially as fans consider the arrival of Fox X-Men Quicksilver in WandaVision. One of the most important comic stories of the 2010s was the Avengers vs. X Men, which pits the two main Marvel teams against each other. Sam was seen to play a key role in this fight.
In X-Men legacy # 266, Sam teamed up with the other Avengers to convince the mutant students of the “Jean Gray School” to join the X-Men against the Avengers. Things spiral out of control and Falcon battles various X-Men, including Rogue.
8 MCU: Defending Wakanda
One of the best action sequences of Avengers: Infinity War and really the whole MCU was the Battle of Wakanda. Sam played an important role in defending both the country and The Vision from Thanos’ forces. He provided air support, along with the War Machine, dropping bombs and firing bullets at the hordes of Outriders attempting to penetrate the defense shield. His efforts were valiant, but sadly he and many others were eliminated by Thanos at the end of the battle.
7 Hope to see: Serpent Society
Long ago Captain America: Civil War was first announced, executive producer Kevin Feige made a joke to fans by revealing that the title would initially be Captain America: Serpent Society. The Royal Serpent Society is no joke, however, as Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson have discovered numerous times.
While Sam was Captain America in 2015, he faced a new group called the Children of the Serpent while investigating a missing teenager. In Captain America: Sam Wilson # 2-6, Sam got into a great battle against the group. He defeated them and the missing teenager, Joaquín Torres, would become the new Falcon.
6 MCU: Fight Spider-Man
The introduction of Spider-Man in the MCU in Captain America: Civil War It was one of the most unexpected moments in the franchise. Fans probably didn’t see one of the best action sequences in the movie coming either. Sam and Bucky confront Spider-Man in the abandoned terminal of the Berlin airport. Spider-Man is on Iron Man’s side in the fight, and although he looks like an ignorant teenager, he hands Sam and Bucky an electric but frustrating defeat.
5 Hope to see: the Anti-Cap
Judging from the trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the US agent will play a role in the series. However, it’s not just the morally gray or downright evil version of Captain America that Sam might face in the MCU. One of the worst is The Anti-Cap, a character Sam fought with in the limited series. Captain America and the Falcon in 2004.
This is a new ‘Captain America’ secretly created by the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) who goes rogue. Sam and Captain America fight desperately to bring him to justice.
4 MCU: fighting Ant-Man
One of the funniest action scenes of the first Ant Man The movie is the scene where Scott Lang unexpectedly meets Sam Wilson at the Avengers headquarters. Lang is trying to sneak into the compound, which he thinks is an empty warehouse.
Unfortunately for him, he isn’t, and Sam shows him what it means to be an Avenger. The fight is pretty good, with Lang struggling to use his shrink ability to his advantage, and Sam showing all the reasons he’s one of the best Avengers (even without superpowers).
3 Hope to see: fighting the US agent.
The US agent will appear in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and it sure will conflict with Sam. The two clashed numerous times at Marvel Comics. John Walker took on the role of Captain America in the ’80s, sparking conflict over and over again in the mid-2010s when Sam held the title.
The two engage in a great battle in the Second Civil War 2016 story. Once again, the Avengers are at odds with each other. The American agent ambushes Sam and the two of them do it until Sam can force him into a tunnel and get help from some great horned owls that reside there.
two MCU: “To your left”
One of the most exciting moments in MCU history occurred when all of the captured heroes returned just in time in Avengers Endgame. The epic return was announced by Sam, who contacted Captain America with his signature phrase: “On your left.” Sam led the charge of the returning heroes to the battlefield and got some justice by defeating one of the giant Outriders with his wings. Sam also provided air support as he did in Wakanda.
1 Hope to see: “Snap”
A different kind of ‘snap’ played a role in Avengers: Disassembled (which is an important story from a comic that has influenced WandaVision). In the story, Wanda lashes out at her teammates after regaining the memory of her lost children, who never really existed. His attack on Sam is subtle but cruel.
She attacks Sam’s mind, returning him to his ‘Snap’ persona, an alias he used before becoming Falcon early in his career. He becomes agitated and violent and his friendships falter. If Falcon and Wanda cross paths in the future of the MCU, it could be an interesting battle.
