Among Us has three unique maps that force players to think differently. Here are the pros and cons of The Skeld, MIRA-HQ and Polus.

It doesn’t take long to scroll through public lobbies or look Among us on live streams to say that The Skeld is by far the most popular map in the game, but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect.

Each one of Among us’ Maps have their pros and cons. One may be much larger than the other or have too many tasks in one area. Others can divide players too much to keep track of everyone, and those without cameras make it harder to keep an eye on suspicious players. This article will break down each Among us map and its pros and cons.
Among Us: The Skeld Maps
Being Skeld Among us’ The most popular map is a pros and cons, and the same can be said about its size. Playing so frequently makes it easier for players to become familiar with the map. However, this also means that newer players are at a disadvantage. If a player doesn’t know the name of their last task or the room they were last in, it will automatically make them look more suspicious. Those who play The Skeld better catch up quickly or they could be the next eliminated teammate. This is especially true for newer imposters, as they have to lie about their whereabouts in order to win.
The Skeld is also Among us’ Smaller map, making it easier for players to stick together. There are no secluded rooms where the Imposter can hide bodies, and it’s a short walk to prevent the reactor from melting or oxygen depleting. However, this makes it much more difficult for the impostor to get away with it. Its size makes it the easiest Among us map to learn, making it difficult for inexperienced players to compete against veterans of The Skeld. But after a few rounds on The Skeld, players will start to pick up the biggest calls that could save their lives.
Between us Maps: MIRA-HQ
MIRA-HQ is likely Among us’ less popular map, and that’s for good reason. It is not the largest map in the game, but it is the most extensive and can be confusing at times. MIRA-HQ has many dead ends, causing players to have to backtrack to get to their next task, and the central locations of the map are separated from each other. Some tasks are also hidden in the farthest corners of the map, making it easy for impostor kills to go unnoticed. Its scattered tasks and long corridors make it harder to keep an eye on players, and the lack of cameras doesn’t help either.
However, MIRA-HQ is the funniest map Among us Imposters. Its vents allow the Imposter to bounce all over the map, and its confusing dead ends make it a perfect map for catching innocent crewmates. Because the reactor and oxygen tanks are so far out of the way, every time a sabotage is carried out it feels like a race against time. This can make for intense and exciting moments, but the confusing map layout can sometimes make sabotage more frustrating than exciting. MIRA-HQ is ideal for Among us crewmates who like challenges and even more so for imposters who want to go on a kill.
Between us Maps: Polus
Polus is a very well designed map that balances its huge explorable area with a large number of distributed tasks and a lot of surveillance. Polus is Among us‘largest map yet, which makes it one of the hardest to learn. There are many tasks spread around Polus and players will have to learn to communicate effectively with their fellow crew members. Despite the large size of the map, the cameras make it easy for players to keep an eye on important roads. Additionally, the vital signs station lets players know when another crewmate has died, and there are many windows that players can view to secretly spy on nearby players.
Polus is a very competitive Among us map for your design. Its various windows make it more difficult for imposters to kill their crewmates, but this is countered by the map’s well-placed vents. There are also various choke points that imposters can use to kill players where no one can see them. There are some out-of-the-way tasks that not many players will visit where imposters can hide bodies, but they’re not that far out of the reach of MIRA-HQ. Because it isn’t played as much as The Skeld, players may have a hard time retaining their knowledge of Polus, but it’s still the best designed. Among us map so far.
That being said, none of Among usThe maps are bad. Each forces players to play differently adding more variety to the game. If players want an informal and more familiar experience, they should play The Skeld. If the crewmates want to feel like they are fighting for their lives, they should play MIRA-HQ. And if players like a more competitive game and a greater variety of tasks, Polus should be their map of choice. If players ever start to get bored Among us, all they need to do is change the map they are playing on for a drastic change in the game.
