WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for “All Wells That Ends Wells,” the Flash season 7 premiere.
Mirror Mistress has just discovered a shocking truth about herself. In “All’s Wells That Ends Wells”, The flash In the season 7 premiere, he saw some old security footage that revealed that Eva McCulloch did, in fact, die, making her a double mirror, now free from the Mirrorverse.
The season 7 premiere saw Mirror Mistress attempt to blow up Central City with a stealth Black Hole jet filled with weapons and other explosives. Fortunately, Barry was able to regain his super speed just in time, thanks to a huge sacrifice from Nash Wells, and he prevented that from happening. Defeated, Eva slumped back into her chair at McCulloch Tech and finally allowed her curiosity to get the best of her.
After a moment’s hesitation, Eva plugged in a hard drive that was on her desk. This pulled out old security footage from the night the Particle Accelerator blew up and gave him those mirror repair powers. However, to her surprise, she found out that her husband, Black Hole boss Joseph Carver, had been telling the truth the entire time. She was, in fact, do not his wife, who had died in the incident.
In the images, the explosion from the Particle Accelerator rips through Eva’s office, throwing her into the mirror behind her desk like a rag doll. Instead of passing, Eva bounces and collapses to the ground. Joseph calls her and asks if she’s okay, but she stays put. He runs to her side and asks for help, but the footage ends there.
Confused, Eva backed away and rolled back and forth about the moment she hit the mirror. In a blink and you’ll miss it, she saw herself, the mirror doubled, back through the mirror. “I died,” he sighed as he looked back at the footage. “Everything I thought was a lie. I’m the mirror duplicated “.
Last season, Joseph had several encounters with Eva through a reflective surface. Each time, he insisted that she was not his wife, that she had died in the Particle Accelerator incident. This stubbornness caused Eva to rage and she simmered in her hatred for six years, until she managed to break free from the Mirrorverse. Her first act was to kill Joseph in cold blood for what she saw as the ultimate betrayal.
Since the episode ended here, it is unclear how Eva will adapt to this news. After all, his revenge was largely based on the fact that he wanted revenge on Joseph and those who caused his incarceration in the Mirrorverse. This latest news could lead her to abandon her plans, which is unlikely, or perhaps drive her further insane.
Airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET / PT on The CW, The flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdés, and Tom Cavanagh.
