CBS All Access is morphing into Paramount +, and this is how subscribers can try the streaming service for free (or at a cheaper price).
CBS All Access is officially changing to Paramount + on March 4, 2021, and here’s how to get the streaming service for free. The subscription service based on CBS programming was first launched in October 2014 as one of the streamers of the initial new wave to compete with Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. In late 2019, CBS merged with Viacom, and just a few months later, the company announced plans for a broader streaming service.
Paramount + will continue to be the home of original CBS All Access programming as Star Trek: Discovery, The Good Fight, Y The support. There is also a list of new titles in the way that the service hopes to attract new potential subscribers. Included in the next titles are Y: 1883, The man who fell to earth, Y aura. In addition, there will be several television revivals to Frasier, Criminal Minds, Rugrats, Inside Amy Schumer, Y Reno 911!. Aside from the release of The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run, Paramount + will feature exclusive releases from Paranormal Activity 7 as well as a Pet Semetary Redo. If the aforementioned titles aren’t engaging enough, the streamer will have live sports broadcasts and a library consisting of 30,000 TV episodes and 2,500 movies.

Those who are already subscribed to CBS All Access will find that their membership transfers to Paramount + at launch. The app will also update automatically without affecting content availability. Paramount + has also been very active in marketing the relaunch in an effort to gain new subscribers. Unfortunately, the renamed service does not offer extended free trials. At the time of writing, Paramount + only offers a 7-day free trial for new customers who sign up for a plan. That being said, there are ways to get a discount on the various plans.
How to save money with Paramount + plans
Paramount +, which will be the streaming home for upcoming Paramount films, is currently divided into two main plans: “commercial limited” and “commercial free.” The latter serves as the ad-free tier, which costs $ 10 each month. A base tier of $ 5 per month will also be available, but not until June. Instead of paying monthly, subscribers also have the opportunity to choose an annual plan. This method reduces the price a bit, with the level of “limited commercials” at $ 60 per year and the plan without advertising costs $ 100. The broadcaster offers in particular an offer for annual plans at half the price with the discount code “PARAMOUNTPLUS”, but ends March 3 at 3:59 pm PT / 6:59 pm ET.
With each registration, subscribers will automatically get a one-week free trial before being billed. Paramount + will notify the user of the payment date. This allows the subscriber to cancel or change the monthly or annual streaming plans, which can also be done at any time once the membership begins. The service may offer other types of trials or annual subscription offers after the official rebrand. Streamers have been known to implement attractive discounts when the buzz starts to wane after a major release.
