A petition calls on Disney and Marvel to allow Letterkenny star Jared Keeso to take over Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine mantle in any MCU reboot.
A growing online petition has demanded that the iconic role of mutant superhero Wolverine be taken over by Letterkenny star Jared Keeso in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
the Change.org the petition was created by Letterkenny fan Christopher Atkinson, who called up decision makers at Marvel and The Walt Disney Company to hear his casting ideas regarding any Wolverine or X-Men reboots in the MCU. Atkinson wrote: “Watching a single episode of your show Letterkenny fully establishes how Mr. Keeso would be the perfect choice for the cast of Wolverine. “To support his suggestion, Atkinson offered the following reasons:”[Keeso] it is actually Canadian. At 5’10 “, he’s not too tall. He already has years of experience playing a tough guy and a smoker. He’s already in pretty good shape.”

Neither Marvel, Disney nor Keeso have responded to what Atkinson called “the only logical casting solution for one of the most recognizable comic book characters, certainly within the X line.” As of this writing, the petition has 3,887 signatures with the goal of reaching at least 5,000.
Supporters of the idea have also voiced their own reasons for approving the cast choice, with one commenter anticipating the possible relationship between Keeso’s Wolverine and Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool. Paraphrasing a popular Keeso catchphrase Letterkenny character, Wayne, in his reason for signing, one fan wrote, “Because I really, really, really want to see Logan say to Deadpool, ‘I wish you weren’t so awkward, Bub.’
As mentioned in the petition, Hugh Jackman has repeatedly said that he will no longer return to the Logan / Wolverine character, whom he played a total of twelve times, in nine movies and three video games. After nearly two decades, his journey playing the adamantium-boned X-Man ended when the character was killed at the end of the 2017 film. Logan. No plans to replace or revive the character have been officially announced.
Beginning as a series of parodies on YouTube, the Canadian comedy Letterkenny has finished its ninth season. Throughout the series’ production, Keeso has played many roles as a screenwriter, showrunner, and star of the sitcom, which follows the mundane yet absurd adventures of the Ontarians.
