An episode of Wanda’s favorite show seen on WandaVision may lead to the MCU’s next big story.

WandaVision She took a trip down memory lane in her latest episode when Wanda resolved her life trauma, beginning with the happy moments of her childhood shortly before her destruction. With those memories, the episode explained not only the centerpieces of Wanda’s character, but also that the sitcom aesthetic of the entire show comes from her time in Sokovia watching old TV collections with her parents and brother.
However, while the show Wanda chooses to watch may be a good reference, it is also possible that it is a great harbinger of the next massive Marvel Cinematic Universe event.

Flashbacks to “Previously On” show Wanda choosing the television show that her family watches on a family night out during her childhood. You know exactly which show and which episode to watch by selecting “It might look like a nut” from The Dick Van Dyke Show. However, it is during the viewing of this episode, which Wanda is already familiar with, that her apartment explodes, killing her parents and trapping her and her brother.
The episode Wanda chooses could have been from a sitcom series. WandaVision used as an aesthetic reference, but “It may look like a nut” was the one. The reason that could be because the entry is not just one of the comedy’s most remembered episodes, but is categorized into television guideThe 100 biggest episodes list multiple times, but its plot is particularly relevant to the future of the MCU, as it centers entirely on an alien invasion replacing the planet’s humans.
At the beginning of the episode, Rob enjoys a terrifying sci-fi movie on television while Laura hides under the covers. He taunts her with the details of the movie to scare her, only to wake up the next morning and find himself immersed in show business. The alien impostors of the planet Twilo replace his friends and family until he is the last human being left on Earth. In the end, as Wanda herself points out in WandaVision, everything turns out to be a bad dream and everything returns to normal, but for the MCU, it is not a dream at all.
The comic event “Secret Invasion” has already been seen in the MCU during Spider-Man: Far From Home, where it was established that the familiar human characters Nick Fury and Maria Hill were replaced by shape-shifting Skrulls. To make matters better, Marvel Studios announced late last year that a series based on the comic was in the works on Disney +. Looking back in memory, Wanda may not only be recalling a random favorite episode from her favorite show, but she is also subconsciously alerting herself to one of the biggest threats the planet is currently facing.
Fans quickly learned in WandaVision how seldom coincidences are possible parallels or just nonsensical clues. There was already ample foreshadowing of Agatha’s true nature and Wanda’s lack of control over her dominance, and at this point, every bit of information about the show has been scrutinized for its possible impact. While speculation leading up to the ending still runs rampant about the introduction of mutants or shifting realities, viewers may be missing the most obvious parallel of all. Secret invasion comes, and WandaVision it may be showing that the Scarlet Witch knows she was on her way.
