The Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are here to stay, and that includes the new fan-favorite warp tubes.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are used to seasonal events with time limits that have finalists compete to acquire all the new items in the game before time runs out. When Nintendo announced new Super Mario Bros. The 35th anniversary items would make their way into the game, players assumed the event would work very similarly.
On March 1, Nintendo added several Mario-themed items like question blocks, character costumes, individual mushrooms and much, much more. The most significant novelty of Animal crossing, it turns out, is the warp tube. Building a network of these pipes allows players to move around their island however they see fit, and proves to be a huge new method of transportation for players looking to speed up their daily routines on the island.

However, Nintendo did not announce how long these Mario-themed items would be available, especially the warp tubes. Don’t worry though, because there is no need to rush. As revealed in a recent cheep, Mario’s 35th anniversary items will become a permanent part of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Warp Pipes are here to stay
Everything new Super Mario furniture in Animal Crossing: New Horizonsincluding warp tubes will not disappear. Instead, they will be available at any time for purchase through Nook Miles in the Special Goods tab of the Nook Shopping Kiosk or the NookPhone app. Players can only purchase five items from the Nook Shopping Kiosk on any given day, so they will have to control their pace before they can purchase all the new ones. By allowing players to only purchase five items per day, Nintendo gives players some long-term goals if they want to acquire all of the new items while still allowing players to purchase items at their own pace.
It’s a pleasant surprise for players who were expecting to have to rush to complete their collection of Mario items. Now, they can kick back, relax, and celebrate Mario’s big anniversary update without having to be in such a rush. Players are already making creative use of warp tubes to add a whole new level to their island design, and some players have even gone so far to create Mario-Themed islands.
Given the positive reception of new items like Warp Pipes, we expect Nintendo to continue adding batches of new items to the game without a time limit attached. Rumors are already circulating that Animal crossing will receive a new event to celebrate the first anniversary of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but players will have to wait a bit longer to see what’s in store.
