Riverdale’s KJ Apa spoke about the difficulties he has when fans mistake the actor for his popular character, Archie Andrews.
Riverdale Star KJ Apa has played Archie Andrews since 2017. The actor has revealed that his popularity as a character is accompanied by a fair amount of bizarre experiences and revelations.
In an interview with Interview magazine, Apa explained that fans often seem to have a hard time differentiating between the character they see on television and the person they meet in real life. “I try to look at it from a fan’s perspective to understand their thinking. But there are times when I think, ‘Wow, they really have no idea that we are real people,'” he stated.

Then he compared his profession with that of others, adding: “You don’t have that in other professions. The life of a builder is not analyzed and he begins to judge the decisions he makes in his life with his wife and children,” concluding. “As an actor, I will be judged on everything: my political views, my views on drugs, my views on the people I want to be with. Everything. It’s something I’ve had to come to terms with.”
Riverdale starring KJ Apa as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Casey Cott as Kevin Keller, Mark Consuelos as Hiram Lodge, Charles Melton as Reggie Mantle, Vanessa Morgan as Toni Topaz, Mädchen Amick as Alice Cooper, and Erinn Westbrook as Tabitha Tate.
