Education Minecraft is celebrating International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month by giving educators and students access to two free lessons. It revolves around Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist known for her efforts to ensure that girls of all ages are given access to equitable educational systems. This particular module allows students to “explore the context of Malala’s struggle for education in Pakistan, “then provides the tools needed to help build an in-game school for girls. The second lesson takes students back to Victorian England to meet political activist Emmeline Pankhurst, who co-founded the UK Women’s Party. and proved to be central to the organization of the country’s suffrage movement.The participating students will explore Victorian England and assist Pankhurst in his quest to inform eight women about the right to vote. While it’s always nice to see fans take advantage of the myriad of Minecraft tools, the education-focused suite updates to the title don’t fail to impress either.
