Samsung will hold its next big hardware event on March 17 with Galaxy Awesome Unpacked, an event where upcoming Galaxy A devices should be unveiled.

Samsung will once again take the virtual stage on March 17 to present its latest line of Android phones, this time marking the event as “Galaxy Awesome Unpacked”. Samsung’s latest Unpacked event took place in January, where the company announced the Galaxy S21 series and Galaxy Buds Pro. With this upcoming Unpacked happening just two months later, what could Samsung have to brag about?

Let’s first talk about what is not expected from the event. While it is anticipated that there will be a Galaxy Z Fold 3 sometime this year, and possibly a more affordable variant of the Fold, no folding phone should appear yet. Those announcements are likely to come later in the year, possibly around August. Samsung is also unlikely to announce a new Galaxy Note, especially considering the myriad rumors that the Note line will cease to exist this year. So, without expecting a Fold or Note from this March 17 event, what exactly is Samsung going to talk about?

In its current form, the general consensus is that Galaxy Awesome Unpacked It will be used to launch Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A devices, specifically the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72. Samsung’s A-series has become a renewed focus in recent years as the company’s flagship budget / value series, as evidenced by the huge success of the Galaxy A51 and A71 in 2020. And because nothing remains a secret in the mobile tech space, extensive leaks I’ve already painted a pretty clear picture of what to expect from the A52 and A72 when they are announced correctly.

Samsung is rumored to once again offer two variants of the Galaxy A52 and A72: an LTE model powered by Snapdragon 720G and another with 5G support that gets the faster Snapdragon 750G. A Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate is also anticipated, which would offer considerably faster animations and overall responsiveness compared to the 60Hz display on the A51 and A71. The leaked renders have also revealed a slightly revamped design to help the phones stand out a bit more from the crowd. There’s no clear word on pricing yet, but with the Galaxy A51 5G and A71 5G (pictured above) retailing for $ 500 and $ 600, respectively, the A52 and A72 should represent great value. from Samsung.

It’s always possible that Samsung has a surprise or two up its sleeve, but for now, the Galaxy A52 and A72 should be the main focus. Samsung Galaxy Awesome Unpacked officially begins at 10:00 am ET / 7:00 am PT on March 17 on Samsung’s YouTube channel.
