Avengers Endgame served as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) last MCU movie (ignoring Evans’s possible return to the franchise). The final moments of the film revealed that Steve, after returning all the Infinity Stones to the past, returned to the 1940s so that he could live a peaceful life with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). An elderly Steve reappeared today and handed his Cap shield to Sam, thus setting the stage for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Steve’s old age plus a throwaway joke Spider-Man: Far From Home, left fans wondering if he lived much longer.
After all this time, the public will finally get their answer. As part of Empirerecent feature in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (via Natalie), Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed that the series will reveal the fate of old Steve. It may not be what people expect. “Yes. In an indirect way“Feige said. He added that while Steve is alive he is a”fair presumption,” is “not necessarily the case. “
Feige’s comments elsewhere in the article hint that Steve might no longer be among the living. He described Sam and Bucky as “two best friends of a mutual friend who is gone. “This, of course, puts friends in a difficult position, as the person who brings them together is apparently not there. One could argue that this just means that Steve is living alone, away from Sam and Bucky, but he is not. It seems to be the case.
Various promotions for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier They’ve shown Sam speaking at some sort of Captain America monument, which could further support the theory that Steve is dead. You could also say that the world believes that Steve is gone, while his friends know that he simply went into the past and grew old. There are several theories about Steve and his fate, but only one will turn out to be correct. It is not clear to what extent The Falcon and the Winter Soldier It will be revealed, but it might have to be early, if only to answer what might be the biggest question on people’s minds. It all starts at the end of this week.
