Not much is known about the direction of the upcoming comic book sequel yet. Deadpool 3, but Deadpool 2 Star Zazie Beetz looks forward to seeing the return of her character, Domino. The actress was recently asked if she had heard anything about the project since its announcement, and while she has yet to get a call from Kevin Feige, she envisions a great future for the character.
“No, I haven’t [heard about Domino’s return]. I would love to revive the role. That was always in the world of what was potentially going to happen. I have not had any specific conversation about it. But it interests me. Not only would I love to revive the role, I would love to find a way to make a Domino movie or something. We’ll see what happens, but I haven’t had any personal conversation. “
Created by writer Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, Domino made her first appearance in Marvel comics in 1992. Possessing advanced marksmanship and close combat abilities, Domino is a mutant whose probability-altering powers basically make her very, very lucky. Something that she uses to become a successful mercenary and survive all kinds of ridiculously explosive scenarios. Zazie beetz is the first actor to portray the character in live action, with Domino making his big screen debut in 2018. Deadpool 2.
It seems that the character was part of Deadpool 3 prior to the Fox / Disney merger, but it remains to be seen whether these items have been carried over. Becoming a member of Deadpool’s X-Force team (and being the only surviving member) puts Domino in a perfect position to return, and Beetz is hopeful that he will also get his own independent spin-off.
Following the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company, Deadpool has been confirmed by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige that he will join companies such as Spiderman Y Strange doctor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, he assured fans that this will not change the character’s focus saying, “He will be rated R and we are working on a script at the moment, and Ryan is overseeing a script at the moment … [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy and very successful actor. We have a number of things that we’ve already announced that we now need to do, but it’s exciting that it’s started. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is amazing to see him bring that character to life. “
Deadpool 3 will of course bring back Ryan Reynolds as the main character, and it’s being written by Bob’s Burgers duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin. Meetings with various writers were reportedly held for some time, and Reynolds heard a variety of speeches from a host of talented scribes, eventually settling on Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin to write the long-awaited dead Pool threequel and merge it with Disney and the MCU.
