Now that Katie Thurston is officially the next female lead in the Bachelorette party (followed by Michelle Young in the fall), fans want to know all they can about the season. Reality Steve revealed that the upcoming season will be filmed at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa. Since it will be another closed season, location will play a big role, as will La Quinta Inn for the Clare Crawley season and Tayshia Adams and Nemacolin for the Matt James season. Here’s an inside look at what Tamaya brings to the table.
For those who aren’t following the spoilers, it was a long wait to find out who the next bachelorette party would be. Now that the Bachelor Nation knows that both Katie Thurston and Michelle Young have their own seasons of High school, fans are ready to get things going. Interest in the new season is already brewing, and Reality Steve’s reveal about some of Katie’s men is making the wait even more difficult. However, fans won’t have to wait long: the new season of High school starts filming this weekend. Katie and all her men are likely already at the Tamaya, awaiting the final negative COVID-19 test result among the mountains. Not a bad place to quarantine.

The Tamaya Resort is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gave many fans High School Musical 2 vibes, but sadly, it’s not the same place where Troy and Gabriella used to vacation. It has similar views of red rocks, and it even has a bright green golf course with a scenic backdrop. The complex is located on 550 acres in the Native American Town of Santa Ana, between the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande River. Tamaya Resort pays tribute to the Tamayame people, who have lived on the land for over 1,000 years. Guests (or Single contestants) can learn about the Tamaya tribe through the resort’s cultural activities. The Tamaya has classes in village oven bread baking, jewelry making, and pottery led by a member of the tribe.
There will be no missing dates for Katie to turn herself in. The resort features bike tours, hiking trails, a spa using local ingredients, hot air balloons, jeep tours, and more. In fact, many of the activities sound similar to what Matt James and his cast members experienced on Nemacolin. A major difference will be the weather, as it will likely be warm enough to make use of the three pools, waterslide, and hot tub on site. The rooms incorporate traditional native designs and natural materials. There’s a restaurant overlooking the Sandia Mountains called Corn Maiden, which is sure to make an appearance during High school.
While Tamaya is part of the Hyatt franchise, it certainly has its own identity. The Tamaya Resort honors its location with its Pueblo-style architecture and its focus on Native American tradition and culture. Offers an entirely new look and feel for a Single franchise that seeks to change things. All in all, it’s a perfect place for Katie to fall in love.
