The Stranger is actually Captain Luthor, an apparent alternate-reality version of Lex Luthor from Earth-TUD22. Luthor is determined to rid the world of Superman after an evil doppelgänger of the Man of Steel killed the Earth-TUD22 version of General Sam Lane before devastating the planet.

BEGINNING – As Smallville celebrates its first Harvest Festival since Martha’s passing, Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) remembers what his mother meant to him and learns a lesson that will help him overcome her death. Meanwhile, Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) makes a breakthrough in investigating Morgan Edge (Adam Rayner). Lastly, Kyle (Erik Valdez) tries to reconnect with Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui), but it looks like he might be reverting to his old ways. Dylan Walsh, Jordan Elsass and Alex Garfin also star. (# 105).
