As much as JWoww’s recent engagement to Zack “24” Carpinello was a shock to fans, it was a surprise to his teammates. The Jersey Shore roommates too. In a recent interview, Pauly D revealed that he, along with the rest of the cast, had no idea that Zack was planning to propose to her. Even after the engagement took place, the cast was left in the dark for quite some time. JWoww and Zack got engaged atop the Empire State Building in New York City in late February.
The engaged couple have been dating on and off for almost two years. At the beginning of their relationship, JWoww was still going through her messy divorce with now-ex-husband Roger Matthews. She and Roger share their two children, Meilani and Greyson. JWoww was quick to introduce Zack to his longtime roommates. With such a huge age difference between the two, the cast continually mocked JWoww and Zack, hence the nickname 24. JWoww kept their engagement a secret, even from his roommates. In an interview with Page sixPauly D revealed that neither he nor the rest of the cast had any idea that Zack was planning to propose to her or that it had already happened. Pauly said: “We did not expect that. She didn’t tell anyone, it just happened. “Zack planned the engagement in private, leaving everyone out of the loop. Even though the cast had already started filming for the next season, Zack made sure to keep his proposal off camera. Pauly went on to explain that the mountain getaway was actually the first time Zack was thrown on a trip with the entire group. The boys welcomed Zack with open arms, they even included him in some boy days. Although Zack has appeared on the show in the past, Pauly admitted that this was the first time he was with Zack one on one. Pauly gave his stamp of approval as he really likes Zack and understands why JWoww likes him. Zack also gets along quite well with JWoww’s kids, which is always a bonus.
As for Pauly, his girlfriend Nikki Hall was also part of the trip; however, he was already welcomed into the group last season. Pauly and Nikki have been inseparable since they got back together. Nikki really played a big role in Pauly’s new virtual restaurant, Pauly D’s Italian Subs. JWoww and Zack’s big announcement to the cast will likely be portrayed in the next season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
