Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have been wanting more custom-designed spaces for a while, now they can get them! This guide will explain how to do it.
Animal Cross: New Horizons It’s the kind of video game that can be played for a lifetime, or at least until the next title in the series comes out. It is itself a life simulator and has been keeping the villagers busy for over a year. Since its inception, Animal Crossing: New Horizon It has been an ever-evolving world, with new seasonal events to attend and unique items to craft. It even has mario! Now that the game is heading into its second year, some events are popping up again (watch out for the arrival of Zipper T. Bunny), but that doesn’t mean it’s all the same. The game has also seen a number of quality of life improvements.

The first and most important of those improvements, Bunny Day will thankfully be shorter this time around … but there are also some more practical additions that have just been added to the game. One of the best is the expanded number of custom design slots available in the Custom Design application on NookPhone. With the March update, players will now be able to get an additional 50 slots for both the regular app and the pro version of the app. That totals 100 additional layout spaces – that’s a lot! Here’s how to access this new and improved functionality.
How to get the Custom Designer Pro Editor + app in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
To unlock the expanded custom design slots, all that needs to be done is to purchase the Custom Designer Pro Editor +. To purchase this, simply head over to Resident Services and access the Nook Stop Terminal. Once at this uniquely jovial ATM, select “Redeem Nook Miles.” From here, all that’s left is to browse the list of what can be redeemed with Nook Miles and select Custom Designer Pro Editor +.
This app costs 2,000 Nook Miles, which isn’t bad at all when you consider how many more patterns players will be able to store. This app will also allow players to put designs on items that could not be customized before, such as umbrellas, small flags, uchiwa fans, and standing photographers. After the app is purchased, it will be automatically added to the player’s NookPhone, and the expanded slots can be accessed by simply opening the custom-designed app.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Lovers have wanted this update for some time and now that the game is one year old, they can finally expand their repertoire of charming custom designs!
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
