Steven SpielbergComing-of-Age Movie Inspired by His Own Childhood Just Added Seth Rogen to the cast. According to Term, the Quick pineapple actor will play Spielberg’s favorite uncle and Michelle Williams She is confirmed to play Spielberg’s mother, though reports have been quick to point out that the film is “inspired by” Spielberg’s childhood and that the characters will have their own voices. This personal story of Spielberg’s childhood is being co-written by Spielberg himself and Tony kushner, the scribe behind Lincoln and the next Spielberg movie West Side Story.

Spielberg, Kushner and Kristie Macosko Krieger will serve as producers, and the film is currently scheduled to begin filming this summer for a 2022 release. As adult roles continue to be announced, Spielberg is now turning to casting children of multiple age levels, including a child who will play Spielberg himself.

The incorporation of Rogen is only the second news on the distribution of the project. He is also set to release his first book on May 11 titled Yearbook, A collection of short stories. He is also a producer on the Amazon series. Boys outside of his film and television work, and although he is known for his comedic work, he received praise for his dramatic portrayal alongside Williams in Sarah polley‘s Take this waltz and earned multiple industry nominations for her role in Steve Jobs.

Amblin, Spielberg’s film production company, is behind the project and, like any Spielberg project, news about the film is very limited. Cast and stories are typically kept under a cover for the filmmaker’s projects.

In 2017, there was a documentary about the director titled Spielberg That gave us a glimpse into his upbringing in Arizona, but this will be the first time fans of the director will look more deeply into the childhood that he says inspired many of his classic works. Spielberg used to make 8mm movies in his backyard and that creative outlet inspired the work we all know and love now.

The project is a bit different for Spielberg, whose latest film is The Count of West Side Story starring Rachel Zegler Y Ansel Elgort. Known for bringing us classics like Raiders of the lost ark Y Jurassic Park, his career is one that has inspired many filmmakers in his own childhood. So being able to see a glimpse of Spielberg’s education, through his eyes, is an exciting idea.

Spielberg’s coming-of-age story looks like a 2022 release and until then, fans can get excited about the release of West Side Story on December 10, 2021.
