Image Comics is one of today’s leading comic book publishers, with hundreds of different series, all featuring unique superheroes and supervillains. With Marvel Studios popularizing the cinematic universes, the question arises as to whether other characters from the various Image Comics series would appear in Invincible. In a recent interview with ColliderKirkman answered this very question. When asked if other Image Comics characters like Savage Dragon would ever appear in the series, he said the following:

“Right now there isn’t. I think it’s a kind of comic book magic and [with] comics I can call Erik Larsen and tell him if it’s okay if Savage Dragon shows up and he says yes, great. So sadly, we find it a bit more difficult to do something like that. “

Unfortunately, it seems that managing the character rights for something like this could be difficult to do in a massive company like Amazon. However, Kirkman previously mentioned how he imagines there could be up to 7 seasons of Invincible. If other Image Comics characters ever crossed paths in Invincible, then there could be a whole new superhero cinematic universe on Amazon Prime Video. The potential is endless for spin-off shows with the number of Image Comics characters out there. However, for now, there are no such plans.
