James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad will bring a vast roster of villains to Task Force X, but a new addition is one of the most vile characters yet.
James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad has revealed a massive roster of villains hailing from all corners of the DC Universe. These characters also vary in the types of crimes they have committed. While most of them are murderers, some have specific reasons for what they do. For example, Peacemaker (John Cena) kills for peace, while King Shark (Sylvester Stallone) kills because he’s hungry. However, there is a new addition to the team who simply kills because it’s in her nature, making her one of the most evil characters in the DC Extended Universe.
Mongal (Mayling Ng) is a warrior born on the planet Debstam IV and daughter of the tyrant Mongul. His father is a classic DC Comics villain who has gone head-to-head with Superman and the Justice League. His gladiator mentality and desire to conquer have made him one of the DCU’s deadliest enemies. Mongal learned well from his father’s past and has used his incredible strength for violence. His propensity to harm others is well known and mocked at Suicide squad newest trailer.

When Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) reviews a list of possible additions to Task Force X, her abilities are more important than her moral character. The previous movie highlighted this perfectly by including psychopaths like Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and mercenaries like Deadshot (Will Smith), who kill for fun or money, but have invaluable talents. However, none have shown as much interest in the assassination as Mongal, whose file revealed that she is not only a murderer, but a potential genocidal maniac.
In one of the images behind the Harley Quinn archive, Mongal can be seen. Most of his crimes are eliminated, but the visible ones paint a gruesome picture. At the top of the list is mass murder. However, there are no details on how the deed was carried out. Another crime listed is crimes against humanity. This could include a wide range of things and has been seen before in the DCU when the Joker’s bio-terror acts were used frequently in Gotham City. But, with Mongal’s heritage tied to a tyrannical dictator, these crimes could be part of his desire to conquer Earth for his father and kill those who opposed it.
While being bad is a prerequisite for being a part of the Suicide Squad, pure evil is not necessary, and Mongal’s track record shows that she cares little for human life. While this could prove beneficial in running missions for Amanda Waller, there is currently no evidence to know if she can be trusted to stick with the task and not succumb to the bloodlust of battle.
It is not confirmed who will survive to see the end of Suicide squad. But, if anyone has a fair chance, it is Mongal due to his natural strength, durability, and warrior heritage. However, if the movie follows its fate in the comic, its story may end sooner. Regardless of the outcome, Mongal is easily one of the most evil and dangerous additions to the DCEU.
Written and produced by James Gunn, Peacemaker stars John Cena, Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Chris Conrad, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lochlyn Munro, Annie Chang, and Christopher Heyerdahl. The eight-episode series has yet to receive an HBO Max release date.
