The film officially surpassed ‘Mortal Kombat’ as the most watched red band trailer in its first week.
James Gunn It has revealed on Twitter that the red band trailer for Suicide squad has already broken the record for most views accumulated by an R-rated trailer in its first week online, just a few weeks later Mortal Kombat set the new benchmark.
The soft reboot of the comic book antihero title team has racked up over 151 million views since its debut. Mortal Kombat116 million, which alone broke the previous figures set by Fox’s Logan and Deadpool 2. Having two in-house trailers setting records so quickly is another win for Warner Bros. in 2021, and the studio seems increasingly vindicated in the divisive decision to release its entire lineup of movies on HBO Max the same day they hit theaters. The first Suicide squad It may have made a lot of money, but it’s hardly considered one of the best DC Comics adaptations. Gunn’s built-in popularity in directing the Guardians of the Galaxy duology for Marvel Studios and the Wild Red Band trailer that promises all sorts of weird, wild, wacky and wonderful antics has made the second outing of the Unequal Misfits generate a lot of buzz.
The promise of Sylvester Stallone voicing King Shark and Starro’s surprise cameo at the end of the first promo. Suicide squad Take advantage of the zeitgeist, and given his expertise in the realm of R-rated genre insanity, Gunn is clearly doing his best to make sure the film is the ideal distillation of his insane vision.
Suicide squad It is scheduled to hit theaters and HBO Max on August 6. You can check out the filmmaker’s reaction below, and he obviously used the star from the trailer’s trailer to celebrate the news.
