Kim Kardashian sided with her husband Kanye West in their years-long fight with Taylor Swift, but now that he keeping up with the Kardashians star is getting divorced, she may try to mend her relationship with Taylor. The infamous fight between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when the rapper interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech at the VMAs to say that Beyocé deserved to win that award instead. That singular incident opened a floodgate of back and forth clues and social media drama that seems to have no end. In 2010, Taylor released “Innocent” while Kanye released “Runaway”, both of which referred to his encounter with the VMAs.

There were all the reasons in the world for the fight between Taylor Swift and Kanye West to end in 2010, and the musicians tried to overcome them. In 2015, Kanye and Taylor were seen having a casual conversation and smiling at each other. Taylor later featured Kanye at the 2015 VMAs when the rapper received the coveted Video Vanguard Award. However, their friendship soured a year later when Kanye released a song with the infamous lyrics, “I feel like Taylor and I could still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.” Taylor stated that she never approved of those lyrics, but Kim Kardashian leaked a recording of a conversation between Kanye and Taylor where the singer appeared to approve of the lyrics.
Recently, Kim Kardashian shared an Instagram story that featured a Taylor Swift song, and fans began to wonder if it was possible for these two to reconnect now that the KUWTK Star will divorce Kanye West. While it’s true that Kim and Taylor had never been “friends” before Kim got involved in the Kanye-Taylor feud, they weren’t “enemies” either. Unfortunately, it appears that Taylor held a grudge against Kim for getting involved in their feud, even more so because the leaked audio recording of Kim was intentionally incomplete to make Taylor look bad.
On the other hand, now that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are getting divorced, there is no reason why Kim couldn’t reach out to Taylor Swift to try to make things right. These two celebrities are not in the same industry, so it’s not like Kim might collaborate on a Taylor song, or like Taylor is suddenly interested in appearing on KUWTK. However, both Taylor and Kim are known as women who actively try to make amends with their rivals / friends. For example, Kim did everything she could to rehabilitate her friendship with Paris Hilton, and Taylor buried the ax with Katy Perry after years of sub-tweets and hints of disgust.
The keeping up with the Kardashians Fans will surely be keeping an eye on social media to see if Taylor Swift or Kim Kardashian will make the first move to make things right. They have both been hurt a lot in the past, but now that Kanye West is out of the picture, there is no reason why this feud between the two women should continue.
