Composer John Williams to return for ‘Indiana Jones 5’


There’s a Indiana Jones without composer John williams? Thankfully we won’t have to find out, as Lucasfilm revealed today that the legendary composer will be returning to write the score for the upcoming sequel. Indiana Jones 5.

Time Steven Spielberg was originally established to direct monitoring, which finds Harrison ford reprising his iconic title role (along with co-leader Phoebe Waller-Puente), the filmmaker took a step back in early 2020 when he decided to focus on other projects. James mangold, the director behind movies like Ford vs. Ferrari and Logan, took his place and is preparing to begin production this year, hence the Williams news.

Spielberg is still involved as a producer on the film along with Kathleen kennedy, Frank marshall, and Simon emanuel, but the key absence that will Indiana Jones 5 unique is George Lucas. For previous Indiana Jones films, Lucas came up with the story and produced while Spielberg was directing. Indiana Jones 5 it is the first time that Lucas has not been intimately involved (although he has certainly been in contact with Ford and Spielberg).

Williams, 89, has slowed in recent years in terms of production, but made his triumphant return to the Star Wars franchise with The force Wake up and went on to compose the scores for The last jedi and The rise of Skywalker, while also writing the main theme for Solo: A Star Wars Story.

He may very well be the greatest composer who ever lived, responsible for the most iconic movie music than anyone else, and it’s great to know that he will be back in the saddle. Indiana Jones 5 having scored the previous four films, especially since his work on the new Star Wars The trilogy proved that he has not lost his touch.

Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled to hit theaters on July 29, 2022.
