Snowfall’s Peta Sergeant joins the cast of Supergirl for her sixth and final season in a new recurring role, Nyxly, at 5th Dimensional Imp.
The CW Supergirl welcomes Peta Sergeant as a series regular for the sixth and final season. Sergeant will join Melissa Benoist in the title role, along with David Harewood, Chyler Leigh, Katie McGrath, Nicole Maines, and Jesse Rath. The Super Friends continue their fight with Lex Luthor (played by Jon Cryer) who is put at risk when Lex sends Kara to the Phantom Zone at the end of the season premiere.
This is precisely where we meet Sergeant’s character, as he plays “a quirky and kind fifth dimension Imp“ called Nyxly, according to Deadline. Nyxly has been mistakenly imprisoned in the Phantom Zone and builds a formative friendship with Kara that helps her deal with her own emotional trauma along with rebuilding her strength. No further details about Nyxly’s character or story have been shared and it is unknown in which episode she will first appear. Sergeant isn’t the only new cast member to join the Supergirl team. RosewellJason Behr and SupernaturalClaude Knowlton will also take on recurring roles for the final season, whose identities have not been announced.
It will be interesting to see Kara’s relationship with Nyxly and how it may differ from everyone’s favorite 5th dimensional imp Mxyptlk (played by Thomas Lennon), who will also be returning for the final season. The friendship between him and Kara has certainly been atypical, but he has always played the role of guide (when he’s not too in love to Supergirl herself), so it will be a different dynamic to watch as Kara tries to heal the ills of an all-powerful being from the 5th. Dimension.
