It has been almost eight years since the Internet exploded after the end of Breaking bad, and in that time there has been a spin-off and even a follow-up Netflix original movie. Writers have put these characters to good use, and for good reason, as they all have a lot of depth.
Even characters that have only appeared in a couple of episodes are memorable, and that’s partly thanks to the actors who play them. However, just as the show would look very different if made in the UK, a Hollywood movie from the award-winning TV show could be just as exciting as the series.
10 Gomez – Michael Peña
It would be easy to mistake Michael Peña for a comedy actor because he is most famous for his hilarious portrayal of Luis in the movie. Ant Man. That’s just a bonus though, as her performances in the Academy Award-winning film Shock and the police drama End of watch They have shown how capable he is as a dramatic actor. The role of Gómez (Steven Michael Quezada), Hank’s partner, would be perfect for Peña, as Gómez strikes that perfect balance between the dramatic and the comedic.
9 Mike – Robert De Niro
Robert De Niro has played a mobster countless times. In fact, his character in the Irish, a former hit man who sadly remembers the mistakes in his life now that he lost his entire family, has a very similar arc to Mike’s. And although the roles are very similar, as Mike is one of the most loyal characters in the series, just as Frank Sheeran is for Jimmy Hoffa. De Niro could own the role more than anyone.
8 Saul Goodman as Eddie Murphy
What Bob Odenkirk did with Saul Goodman was incredible, as he became the MVP of the entire show and even stole the scene from Bryan Cranston at some points. A character that seemed more from the world of Malcolm in the middle when he first appeared he became the most three-dimensional character in the series.
And there are few actors who can blur the line between comedy and drama, but given their triumphant return in Dolemite is my name, Eddie Murphy would give an incredible interpretation of the criminal lawyer. And yet Breaking bad had the perfect ending, was followed by Better call Saul, and if that was a movie, Murphy would kill her.
7 Marie – Stephanie Kurtzuba
Being another star of the Irish, Stephanie Kurtzuba has been very successful with Martin Scorsese as she also starred in The wolf of Wall Street as Kimmie Belzer. And everything that the actress has been between those two films has shown that she is an actress asleep in Hollywood.
Kurtzuba has shown that he has the emotional skills, and given how hilarious Marie (Betsy Brandt) can be on the show, whether it’s overprotecting Hank or criticizing him for collecting minerals, Kurtzuba can capture that perfectly.
6 Todd – Ansel Elgort
Despite being a star and having starring roles in films like Baby driver, divergent, Y The fault in our stars, the public has not seen much variety of Ansel Elgort yet.
However, his past roles have been largely subdued, as the characters he plays generally don’t like to show their emotions, which is similar to the psychopath Todd (Jesse Plemons). And since Elgort leads Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side StoryIn a movie where failure or success relies almost exclusively on performances, the young actor is likely to be able to achieve anything.
5 Gustavo Fring – Don Cheadle
As the owner of Los Pollos Hermanos, the fast food joint at the helm of a crystal meth empire, Gustavo Fring was brought to terrifying life thanks to Giancarlo Esposito. Esposito has a hugely influential presence in everything he does, although Fring is arguably his best character.
Don Cheadle could make the character as iconic on the big screen, and while he generally doesn’t have much screen time like War Machine in the MCU, he is an Academy Award-nominated actor for his role in Hotel Rwanda. Cheadle finally gets to be a bad boy in the next Space jam sequel, but so far, audiences haven’t seen him in a truly antagonistic role.
4 Hank – Laurence Fishburne
Laurance Fishburne can play anyone. He has gone from playing a boy in the Vietnam War to Apocalypse now, an evil gangster in King of New York, and the leader of an uprising against the machines in Matrix.
And although the talented actor adapted to his role as Dr. Raymond Langston in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, has never fully developed a detective-like role on the big screen. And considering that Hank (Dean Norris) has the most intense scenes on the show, Fishburne would do well, as he has such a commanding presence, just like Norris.
3 Skyler by Amy Adams
Skyler (Anna Gunn) got a bad rap among fans of the show, despite her husband committing far more heinous actions than she could dream of.
But if there’s one actress who could win fans over to her side, it’s Amy Adams. Whether in Teacher or American hustleAdams has some kind of gravitational pull when it comes to the audience. And even in his movies that are not so beloved, like Iron Man, she is always a fortress.
two Jesse by Evan Peters
Whether or not audiences see Evan Peters as Quicksilver is on the air again, and although the actor’s filmography would be a bit light if it weren’t for the X Men movies and American horror story, the actor has shown how much fun he can have with his character.
Aaron Paul brought Jesse out really well by giving off that lovely, comical vibe of relief, while putting so much effort into each variation of yelling “bitch.” Peters was able to capture that same energy that Paul perfected on the show.
1 Walter – Brad Pitt
At first glance, it might be a bit jarring to imagine Brad Pitt as a struggling high school teacher, but he’s actually played average people before, most recently in The big bet Y Moneyball. And while he’s in great shape to this day, it’s easy to forget the actor’s age. He could master the role of an unlucky teacher turning 50. And at the same time, Pitt can also play an evil, demanding and selfish antagonist, like Heisenberg.
